Sorry if this is a daft question, but my new Octy 2 has made me feel like I have been living in the dark ages for years. Cars have come on so much.

I was wondering if it was possible to customise the deadlocks/car alarm function:

• Make the car give a bleep when the locks are set on the remote?
  
• Have the central locking and alarm set themselves if there is no electrical activity within the car over a set period (yes I can see this may be dangerous)?

first part, yes but will need a dealer.

second part, your car already partly does this. If you unlock the car with the key but dont open anything, then the car will lock itself and set the alarm again after about 1min. Apart from that I dont think you can do anything else.

First part yes but you don't necesserilly need a dealer!, can easily be done with Vagcom

The car will auto lock if it is unlocked and the doors not opened.

I find when I get out of the car, I lock it, then after 10 mins, feel the need to go outside and check in case I never locked it.

To be fair I have the worst memory in the world, I find myself wandering around looking for stuff that I can't remember what I wanted it for even when I find it.
