Noisy whiteline bar

Featured Replies

Well I have mine on the 2nd from softest and think its a bit too soft. Have a R32 ARB on the front so might try the 3rd but its supposed to be easy the change between them.

Happy to help.

Yep it's very easy to change took me about 5mins job done. I actually moved my from 2nd from softest to soft! Really was'nt getting on with it on that setting i think that my front tyres are not helping conti's with about 3mm left, plus i have a knocking from the front? So for now it seems better, when i get new tyres and sort the knocking out i shall try it again on 2nd from softest.

I was debating what level to have it on also, just nenewed my tyres all round to 225 eagle f1's

how did you find it anyway?

I also have a new set of boots, falken fk 452. I'm going to go 3rd from softest and see how that is as still getting some understeer. Will hopefully do this the weekend when I'm fitting my aero wipers.

Yeah im getting falken's fk452 in the next couple of weeks so will probaly change it again. How you getting on with the falkens?

Not a bad tyre. Had neros before and these are nearly as grippy and a lot less noise. Very happy with them.

I Fitted my Whiteline (none ajustable) bar last Sunday in the pouring rain.

What a difference to handling. Used a lot of grease around the D bushes as I have heard that they squeak a bit.

Cheers.

I've just fitted my new adjustable whiteline rear arb. I set it on the 2nd hole from softest first. I went for a drive & found it alot better & has got rid of most of the understeer & has more feel to the steering. Now set it on the 3rd hole from softest & it feels marginal better, but I feel that I'm now lacking something on the front, so I'm going save up & buy a strut brace & the S3 lower braces.

Oggy,

What front arb do you have? I have a 23mm R32 bar and am still getting some understeer. So going to change to the 3rd from softest, was fitting aero wipers today and gave her a wash.

Also looking at getting the S3 strut braces.

More money.

A wee tip when fitting aero wipers, make sure you put the arms on the correct way round. A am getting stupider.

The front arb is a new standard one that was fitted under warranty. You will probably find that with a stiffer front arb, it will induce more understeer anyway.

Fitted mine yesterday as well as swapping the rear springs (cheers Manny) All seems good, nice and taut. Lots of grip now with reduced roll. Lovely.

As I fitted my Rear ARB when I also fitted my Koni FSD shocks and Eibach Pro Springs and the Front upper S3 strut brace, I am not sure what made the best handling. I was considerig a beefer front ARB and lower S3 brace but am so pleased with handling now I might leave it.

Does the lower S3 brace do much??

please can someone post a piccy

Of the fitment? Do a search and a few peeps have posted fitting pics.

I might be able to do a group buy on Whiteline roll bar sets if there's enough interest!

Bowders1 yes the lower S3 brace does make a difference make's the front feel nice and tight and more direct well worth it for the cost and simple fitting. Just stick with the standard front arb no need to change it.

Gmaster

What is the cost of the lower brace and how easy is it to fit.

Cheers

It used to be about £12 for the brace but vw have put the price up probaly cause of high demand from memory i think it's about £30 now. Very easy to fit just two bolts to do up, the holes are already there in the floor pan. If you want i can post up the part numbers?

gmaster, you were spot on, on the price. Bought mine last week and fitted on the weekend, simple job. Can't yet decide if there is a huge difference in handling yet.
