narr, i kicked that one out!!!

haha brilliant,

i still have that cat but it keeps pulling on the handbrake and slowing me down!

so i may need to get it cut out! lol

I used self-amalgamating silicone tape on my breather hose and that sorted out a crack it had at the rocker cover end (I hope). Needed a bigger jubilee clip for it though.

Would be better to replace the hose though I guess.

My hose isn't so much cracked as shredded.

I just had to fish one of my cats out of the car. She'd jumped in when I popped the bonnet and fell asleep in there. Fortunately I went back out to check something and there she was, nose pressed to the window, looking very worried. Shame I forgot to take a picture, really.

Curses, the hose won't be delivered until Tuesday.

Had a similar experience with a neighbour's Burmese years ago. Of course, the car in question was garaged, so we didn't find the idiot feline til 2 days later, and it was not in the least bit grateful when it was retrieved by its owner. 4 pointy ends and all 18 Vorpal daggers of death used in registering a protest!!

Our cat likes going in the cars - though I am not keen on it in mine as its had it claws out on the interior in places! Doh! Ah well it adds to the look that the car is being used a bit!

Cheers anewman. Interesting read that lot.

The world would be a much more boring place without cats. Especially if you give them catnip.

Right, update time. Spark plugs removed and checked (once my friend with the right tool turned up). I have 3 spark plug removing widgets and of course none of them were big enough. Plugs turned out to be in pretty good condition. Cleaned them anyway. They are those fancy 4 pronged ones. Get me.

I had my first ever go at respraying a panel. I had to treat some rear wheel arch rust and figured I'd repaint the whole panel so that it wouldn't be obvious where the repair was. SUCCESS. I can paint things black. After it's had time to set properly I have colour match T-cut to go over the whole car with.

Re-blacked the external trim.

I have also replaced the window winder crank thingies with some very nice chrome jobs.

The ****ing hose still hasn't turned up.

Go a nice new tax disc, though.

good work, good work,

alway good to be trying new skills. keep it up.

(... and finally my computer stops saying "over-ride sync error" for no apparent reason and I can turn the **$££&@@***** thing on again ...)

The hose turned up. I fitted the hose. Car go vroom and accelerates and everything. My friend with a white Felicia 1.3 is sulking 'cos mine has more poke than his.

But his plastic wheel trims are in better nick (well, they are new) than my real live alloy wheels because the previous owner of my car seemed to like scraping along the kerb. No amount of polish repairs that kind of damage. New alloys would cost nearly as much as the car did. Sulk.

The postal strike is still chewing the lovely alchemy skull for the top of the gear stick. But it is out there somewhere.

The T-cut is on the car ... and embedded in my fingerprints.

Beginning of next month I'm off the 100 miles each way to visit my mum for her birthday. Then we'll see how it likes motorways.

"The postal strike is still chewing the lovely alchemy skull"!! Em why? Alchemy are in Leicester AFAIK (Braunstone Gate the last time I visited).

And so would refurbing. :( My alloys had loads of cracks in the lacquer so I thought I'd give it a go myself and stripped and painted them. Never again. Really dissatisfied with the job. Hoping to find somewhere decent and cheapish to get my alloys done at some point, and mayaswell change the colour to something like anthracite instead of plain silver.

My alloys are now as clean as they're going to be (until I next go through some mud, that is). They'll have to do for now.

Ken my friend, I have sad news. The original Alchemy shop was right where you said, my mate Bill used to be behind the counter for a while, but it closed down. Real shame too, but alas gone.

I found the JML Doktor Power helped get rid of more of the black-type marks that seem to build up and won't go away. In my case it didn't get rid of them completely but did a much better job than other alloy wheel spray cleaners and soap etc, so it's not as amazing as all the hype adverts they like to make about their things. Not too sure the £4.99 price tag is justified though. There may well be a cheap supermarket version I'm not aware of that does the same thing.

to have my wheels re-furbed i get them shot blasted, and then powder coated.

job done easy.

Problem is price, been looking at these guys... Example prices suggests it should be £201 all in which doesn't seem too bad, can't find much cheaper. They are a pristine wheel dealer New Alloy Wheels & Wheel Refurbishment

Just don't have that kind of cash. Now if I could find someone who could move the decimal point over to the left a bit so it says something like £2.01p ... as if. My alloys need more than cleaning. They have chunks missing. Sorting them out will have to wait until next year.
