4x4 Intake Question

Featured Replies

Hi guys, i'm the owner of a new Octavia 4x4 Turbo, with first stage of remaping. That goes to 193HP. Does any one know if i can change the air filter with a more advice one? Ant problems after the change?

Welcome Wildrose....

hope you dont mind me moving your post...

there is much debate about which intake is best... but in theory a few HP will be released by a new intake... 193bhp? what tuner are you using?

ffelan - does this go for a simple panel filter change or are we talking CAI !?

nobody has conclusivly proved either way... i run a cone... many run the carbonio type of thing..

Des reckons std box with decent element mightbe best.. but i like the noise of cone...

only asked cus i was thinking of changing the panel for a green item, didnt want to do too much to change things cus my local dealer isnt mod friendly.

thanks though

Because these give such small gains it's very hard to tell....I find my CAI gives a bit better low down resposne plus the noise.

Go the panel filter if you dealer is mod unfriendly....a lot of the guys who went the Green route like them.

I like my Green panel - all subjective, but the car feels as if it breathes more freely.

Wildrose, Jabba remapped my otherwise unmodified 4X4 to 230 bhp, then fitted a Bailey DV for me. Thats said, I'm guessing that you have had a chip fitted and are stuck with what that gives without trying other mods. I'm also going to guess that you are one of our many Greek members, at least one of whom has got impressive results from modifying his car. Have you read this thread which contains excellent advice on how to get more out of your car? Since the 4X4's engine is almost identical to that of the vRS, all of the engine mods should work apart from the exhaust. The 4X4's is different and would need a custom-made replacement if you want to change it for more power.

I had the chance to try before buy (CAI) after fit i drove the car for 5mins then took it off and put standard box back on fitted with KN as i did not like the sound and it felt as my car had lost performance and for

Replacement panel filter and, if you have a dremmel, remove the fins from inside the airbox. That'd be my preference.

 hello

I tried this... and it works

combined with a K&N drop in filter... MAF/oil issue be damned !

I've got this

and I can't recommend it highly enough... for the noise and coolness factor if nothing else.

Well, heer in Greece there's ABT witch has 2 stange of tuning Octavia. First one goes to 193HP (from 150HP), and the second to 215HP.

The ABT performance group only remaps the ECU.That gives the first +43HP in the 150HP factory car. This is what i have, for now!!
