Pretty likely tbh, although I don't know why - the first two were toss and I don't imagine this will be much better ;)

there will be no peace till he has it, so I will have to go and have a look for it tomorrow:eek:

No chance whatsoever of it being sold out.

Blockbuster have it for £35, not seen it anywhere cheaper yet.

It won't sell out (other than the legendary edition), but it will be a top seller. Definitely on to be the biggest selling game this year.

And the first two certainly were not toss. Halo 1 made some significant advancements to the genre, and Halo 2 had some of the finest multi-player ever.

Of course if you don't like FPS's, Halo 3 isn't likely to change your mind.

Sad Sac son is going queuing up with friend at midnight tonight - and he's also pre-ordered the legend (ary ?) Edition :thumbdwn:

Q: wots all the fuss about HALO 3???

A: Its like HALO 1, but 3 times better I presume:P

Halo 1 was a classic.

Son and friend just returned from getting it - will not see them now for hours / years ....................

Review (quickie) from son (true X-box nerd) - Quite Fantastic.

Apparently you can save the whole game just played and replay it - postmortem (gruesome) stuff.

Handy for those moments when you toss a grenade into your own backpack though...

Oh, don't get me wrong - I love FPSs, but Halo was a neutered half-arsed effort. It should have been great until Microsoft bought Bungie and rushed the release date for the xbox launch, leading to most of the interesting content being cut. Most of the levels were straight duplicates of each other including those awful ones near the middle where you had to trek through no less than 15 identical rooms facing the same few enemies each time. The PC conversion was atrocious and required a very high spec for even barely acceptable performance. I personally can't see *anything* that Halo did that hadn't been done better before, although I'm told that Multiplayer Halo 2 is quite good. In the end I completed it out of sheer bloody mindedness in the hope that it's get better. Couldn't wait to reclaim the hard drive space from that one :)

i thought halo was a excellent game, and im just waiting for my friend to get it before setting seige to his house and having a bash at at :)

i loved the second one for the 2 player modes and just the atmospherics from the music to the graphics were fantastic. but then im a fan of films like final fantasy were the graphics are very lifelike.

i think its one of those things you either get or dont! lol

PC Halo was a poor relation, and did come out significantly later than the Xbox version, when the genre had moved on.

What Xbox Halo did so well was the vehicles, AI, and general ambience. Yes you can look at it now and see a lot of flaws, but for the time it was groundbreaking stuff, and well deserving of the Edge 10/10 rating.

You'd be hard pressed to beat comando on the cpc464 or harrier attack on the ti64 :)

Quite tempted to stop off now and have a gander at a demo in a game store nearby then nip to tesco or asda :)

Sod off, cheapskate (£11) :P

Hiya Scotty - good for you.

Have a daft, equally addicted son :o . He queued up with friend at midnight last night for it. And, then got up at 7.30 to go get his.

Luckily I'm not afflicted  - in that way.

Hey, you got a Silver Fabby - way, way best colour - virtually never need cleaning

Sad sac :P

But, honest, a piece of pi*s with a silver Fabby. One of my neighbours comments every time on passing "You cleaned that again !"

All I do is wash the wheels once a week (mebbe more when conditions are bad, sometimes give rear a quick once over) and then the whole car probably every 2 weeks.

Stuff having a Black Magic - 'clean every day' car :thumbdwn:
