Plastic boot tray

Featured Replies

Thinking of getting one of these for trips to the landfill, especially with stuff that could leak.

Are they watertight or do they have any holes in them? Difficult to tell from photo in accessories brochure.

Yep, should be ok for little spills. No holes.

The only holes are the ones you make (with a pair of scissors) to accommodate the tie down loops (in the estate, at least). These small sections (*4) are raised more or less to the same height as the lips, making the risk of a spill remote unless your talking puddles!

The plastic 'boot dish' is pretty slosh proof, I would avoid cutting the tie loop holes as they are lower than the outer lip.

I've cut a couple of holes in mine for the net. It will stop most spillages and also prevents things sliding around. Very useful.

My vacuum pump tipped over many moons ago and the oil went right through the hole I cut out. Stupidest thing i've ever done

Can anyone help me by advising where's the best place to buy one of these?

There are a lot on ebay, I wonder....has anyone bought any from there? How is the fit?

I have one of these. They are a great job. Do not cut holes in it.

Great for wet coats and brollies etc.

Anyone got one? Will it cope with small leaks from whatever you're transporting? How durable is it, would it be trashed by a few bags full of pruned rose bushes?

Seen these on ebay for £12.99, they are in Germany but dont be scared to order I ordered a pro car polisher from Germany and got a better service than the UK:) :)

That looks handy!! Protects the bumper aswell! Mrs has a problem of resting items on the bumper when loading it up!

Is it watertight? Are those corners sealed or is there a gap between the sides?

No, I dont think it could be described as watertight - you'd probably want a plastic or rubber seamless type liner for that.

I notice that Skoda now point out that none of these are suitable for boot with false floor. Shame they hadn't realised this when I bought mine with the new car 18 months ago.

Actually it's not a serious problem, just doesn't look good.

I guess they arent strictly compatible (although mine was the only one at the time that didnt specifically say 'not compatible' with the false floor option.

I just unhook a couple of the elasticated clips to get to the ubderfloor compartment when I need to. :)

Right then. Turns out one of the main ebay sellers of these things is only a 5 minute drive from work (in central Bradford). So popping down at lunch to pick up one of these for £23:

Get one, it's fantastic, use mine for muddy site boots, muddier dog, then just hoover it off or take it out and shake it out.

Handy flap is fantastic for not letting the dog, or those boots, scratch the bumper!

That would be fantastic for stopping the dog ruining the rear bumper.....

Oh, the dog has gone now.... Time to get a hatch....

Sod that, I like the look of the combi :)
