Amplified Favorit Ariel

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

I need to get an amplified ariel to get the best from my new stereo,

have any of you got one and if so where from ????

or any other info would be good

cheers guys

I haven't had any problems with the long one supplied as standard (it's a long wire type one just in front of the sun roof). In fact I have to press the ta button on my headunit to get rid of irrelevant traffic broadcasts from Sheffield, Humberside and York when I'm in Leeds.

The Haynes manual says that favorits had the aerial bonded as a grid thingy into the sunroof but I have to say I've never seen one like that.

Assuming you're in a good reception area and have the same aerial I have, a decentish head unit, and the aerial connection is good, the only thing I can think that might prevent you being able to tune certain stations would be the head-unit's sensitivity settings.

Don't know if any of these help. Not shopped with these before or throughly checked the site so as always with online shopping be careful.

Antenna Aerial Adaptors

ISO to Din Antenna Booster

PC5-90

This adaptor is commonly required on VW's, Seat, Skoda's, Vauxhall and Audi's where the original radio has an integral booster for the aerial connection. This is similar to PC5-52 but has a Din plug which is directly compatible with most aftermarket radio's.

Probably looks the sort of thing you'd be after.

The one i have got is about 15 inches long and has three coils at the bottom. I have not seen one like it before.
