Imperator's Fabia 1.4 16v

Upgraded the aerial to a VW Sharan replica, which I bought from Parts4Euro.com. I'm made up with it, looks the business and reception is at least as good as original. Also, a controversial mod to the engine cover. :o

Are you aware the cover's got the wrong badge on it? :P

Steve

Hehee! Car went in for a service recently at a VW specialist, and the mechanic was quite surprised to see it. Still, the 16v is a VW engine, so I think a VW badge sits quite well on it.

cars looking ace mark! were did you get them plates from btw?

This eBay seller:

eBay My World - matriches

They are a fraction of the cost of Dubmeister's, and they're EXACTLY the same. The quality is exceptionally good. These are imported from Germany though, so you have to wait 10-14 days for them (while Dubmeister offer next day delivery). Worth the wait though. I paid £12 for mine in the end, but I've seen them go for as low as £8.

Also, a couple of updates. Replaced my Briskoda plate holders with Skoda Auto Mlada Boleslav ones which I'd been hunting for months to complete the European look. Also, changed my side repeaters to darkened ones, which really suit a car of my colour, IMO.

Well, the biggest cosmetic change I've made. They might not be staying. What do you think? I'm not sure if it makes the car look fun (in the Suzuki Swift / Mini style), or if it's just a bit too boy racer...

Hmmm.... not a fan of stripes but that just about pulls off the look. It's coming on well mate. What's up next, lowering it a tad?

Maybe. It's all money, though.

I have a feeling these stripes might be gone by the weekend.

Don't think they go with the rest of the car Mark, sorry. Maybe a single, dark anthracite stripe on one side might work - or two doubles running up one side...

They're actually growing on me today. Definitely look better in the flesh than on the photographs. Still, unlikely to keep them very long. The reason I chose the red pinstripe was to match the 16V badge - I'm glad someone picked up on that!

Big day for my car tomorrow. Watch this space!

Well here it is... my car's had a chin job. Bought the OEM GT Front Spoiler / Grills kit a while ago on eBay, and have just put it into the bodyshop to be sprayed and fitted. In my opinion, it is a vast imrpovement on the gutless looking front end of a standard non-vRS Fabia. I am delighted with the result.
