New to Site, soon new to Skoda (I hope)

Hi all. 2 years ago I sold my last beloved Impreza STi MY2003 (I've owned and driven a number of Imprezas over the years) and used the proceeds to put a deposit on a new house for my partner and myself and invested in a new shopping trolley (aka Dinny the Daihatsu) for BORING transportation.

I am now a partnerless Daihatsu driver, but by tomorrow, Tuesday, with my son-in-law's help, hope to be the proud owner of a 2004 Skoda Fabia vRS, imported from the UK.

If all goes well with the purchase, importation, re-registration, etc, I plan on modifying the car in stages, as follows:

Stage 1 anti-roll bar(s), HIDs or Xenons and any cosmetic bits that need doing (not a tart-up with logos and decals, but fixing any dents, scrapes or scratches to the original paint or bodywork)

Stage 2 new free-flow exhaust, maybe inter-cooler upgrade, maybe ditch the A/C and positively re-map the ECU

Stage 3 wheels, tyres, shocks

Stage 4 who knows, I'm open to suggestions, please!

May all be pie in the sky, but I'll know in about 36 hours.

I'm from a Scooby background. Sold mine to (successfully) finance becoming a driving instructor and now teach in a Furby vRS :D

The ARB (Jabba rear) is worthwhile. I aren't interested in better lights, the Furby ones are as good as any other car, so nothing really to complain or spend money about. I believe there's not much point opening up the exhaust as the extra flow can put stress on the tiny turbo, so may be best left until you plan to upgrade that. Remaps however are very good (so I hear ;) ). Standard these are surprising little cars, with the mid-range torque grunt being very similar to that Scooby shove. They also handle very well IMHO, allowing me to be quicker on some tracks than the mighty Scoobs (driver/power/chassis dependent). Some who have tinkered with suspension products have been known to return to stock later having felt it compromised the fluidity and composure of the car.

Hi and welcome to Briskoda......just do a search on here for any of the things in your list and you will find mountains of info ........brake upgrades are good as is a remap.....person to talk to is Devonutopia, just because I think he has just about tried every mod going and then some :rofl:

Would suggest you look at ARB, suspension, panel filter, cupra intake and remap as the 1st set of mods, drive it for a while then think about the other more expensive mods.

I would bet that you then leave the engine alone, as IMHO this gives the car the final touches that SUK should have done in the 1st place.
