Noisy ARB Bushes - Octavia TDi (Rear)

Featured Replies

Last year the bushes on the ARB on the front of my Octavia started to make the most horrendous noise mainly the one on the nearside made especially worse after running the air con/climate control.

This was fixed with a new ARB/Bushes all supplied by Skoda as a good will gesture as car was not long out of warranty when fault occurred.

Anyway I am now getting a very similar sounding noise from the offside rear especially when going over speed humps or turning into drives etc. Over the weekend I bounced the rear of the car a few times to see if it was my imagination or not and the noise was quite apparent.

My reason for the post is to ask anyone out there with more knowledge of the Octavia if they have ARB's on the rear and if so are the bushes prone to the same sort of failure as those on the front? If the answer is yes, the second question is how easy are they to replace and where are they located?

I'm no mechanic but I'm OK to do basic remedial work on a car and if the job is not to complex I'd be happy to give it a go myself.

However if the job requires a skilled/knowledgeable person then I'll whip it to a local garage instead.

Any suggestions/help much appreciated.

Thanks

Some (or it could be all) Octavias have a built in rear anti roll bar - see file below.

Depending on your mileage it may well be the beam mount bushes that have started to go and have caused this squeek?

I have never heard of anyone with a squeeky one though!!

Thankyou for that file/pic, I'll have to get under mine and see if I have a similar set up.

If I do then I guess that the squeek wont be bushes, I have done a search on here for other threads/posts for similar issues but didn't find too much about the rear ARB/Bushes. Will keep looking but may pop it into my dealer to have them listen to it and see if they can tell what it may be.

Cheers Again :)
