Don't take it too hard, just a bit of fun

all forums are the same.

There's some people who really know their stuff on this forum, so stick around, you'll soon blend in :)

It wasn't meant as an insult, just a comment.

Spellcheckers are available, and take seconds to use.

They then make otherwise unreadable posts understandable, and hence interesting.

I would like to know what you did/do to your cars, but I can't bear to read your unintelligable posts.

HTH.

That should be "unintelligible".

Perhaps you should be using a spellchecker. ;)

Just me, or everyone else?

I/we weren't taking anything, just giving a new member advice about spellchecker.

I appreciate some people are better at some things than others, but if the op wishes to be taken seriously, and not be mistaken for a 12 year old, at least a small effort is appreciated.

I am sure we all realise that nobody is perfect, but come on.........

mr grumpy, i would never describe you as normal :)

We are talking about this chap's Felicia and Felicia/tuning related topics here.

We should be welcoming this guy, he is new to the forum after all. Granted the grammar/spelling is not strictly the Queen's but this isnt an English literature forum and the only reason he put up a thread was to post about his Skodas which is what people on the Felicia section like to chat about and to be honest I dont think there is a single grammaticly correct post on this forum!

Enough has been said on the whole grammar issue. No more posts about grammar please in this thread. Before people get offended if they are not already. Lets get back on topic.

Skoda owners are not normal, if they were they would be driving Fords and Vauxhalls or whatever the latest "cool" car is these days :o)

i don't quite know what's happened in this thread, but just to clarify some technical questions asked earlier

the mk3 golf and ibiza 6L both have engines which are mounted on he subframe/ and front crossmember like in the mk2 golf, the 6n polo has engine/transmission mountings in the chassis legs...

the 1.6 16v 125bhp polo/lupo gti engines are indeed drive-by-wire, but the cable operated throttle body from a 1.4 is a direct fit. the most difficult thing you will find with these engines is controlling the variable valve timing.. trust me! it's a wiring head ache, but it isn't impossible, further to this the skoda gearbox in the felicia wont fit the lupo/polo gti engine so you may be better off trying to use the gearbox too, which would require conversion to hydraulic clutch, also the driveshafts are the wrong length.

It would be nice to see some pictures though, being a Polo fan.

Well it looks like yet another intelligent person possibly with dislexia has been annoyed by narrowmindedness. :thumbdwn:

If you're still here PinkPolo, respect.

As for translating the Czech into English, I've had one go (online translator) and it's obviously full of technical words, but here it is so far:

That ste the thrust since motor superintendence sustenance within way prišli within rad aj adjustments within wheelframe. Motorcar spadlo make for mould vďaka nastaviteľnému wheelframe. WITHIN prednej axle sú ventilované kotúče priemeru mm plus fore im second kotúče within priemere mm. Whole system operating veľmi while plus them aj while poised. Samozrejme môžeme zabudnúť within limber priemeru palcov plus preto mused prísť limber priemeru palcov. Adjustments within prednej axle si vyžiadali ešte mierne vytiahnutie predných mudguard.

I'd like to know what Mr. Grumpy says about that

I'll have another few goes to see what else can be made of it.

(Edit) Not as easy as I first thought...

The first sentence is saying that his motor is too powerful for the standard chassis/suspension. (I've had a look, it's got a thoretical top end of 200kph, dyno'd at 185k - 81.2 kW - 109 bhp running 7 bar on an Audi 2.2 turbo)

Then something about being comfortable that it's not going to crash (I think)...

It takes a ventilated 280mm disk & 239mm by the same maker on the rear or as a replacement for the original 239mm unit.

The braking power is WICKED!

(This is tricky coz I've found the page this is from and it's Slovenian)

Not forgetting Kolesa Autoshop (possibly) where he got his 14" and/or 15" rims from - ir 15" as replacements for 14"??

He had to adjust the wheel arches accordingly.

So if anyone wants a 280 & 239mm brake conversion kit, there you go! (Or at least it's a possibility)

Tuning - Športové brzdové kotúèe nemeckej kvality - ZIMMERMANN !

good work that man.
