Sent him a text today..

If I wanted a brand new car like the Integra, I'd be going to these guys... :)

a mate of mine up in Inverness has just got one from Japan imported through some crowd in Newcastle, they did everything including the tweak to change the map for the petrol. He loves it and says it handles like a dream but feels everything through the seat! He says on crap roads its very uncomfortable!:(

k:)

Well here i am!!!

I've recently purchased a Honda Integra DC5 Facelift on a 55 reg with 2200 miles on the clock a couple of months back.

I had a RenaultSport Clio Trophy before, which i loved but the Integra is a completely different car.

Ticks all the boxes the Trophy didn't,great engine, fantastic gearbox, looks great, not many around.

I can't believe i'd not had a Honda before this one,i just love it.

I bought mine from the same place i bought my Trophy, ALLVEHICLES.CO.UK FOR ALL MAKES OF NEW AND USED CARS AND COMMERCIALS - SUPPLIED NATIONWIDE.

very helpful and friendly.

Have heard very good reports about Andy at 200bhp cars,if you go on the DC5 forum you'll find loads of information.

Any questions just ask.

I'm getting frustrated that I can't find the right spec car for the right price! :(

Keep looking mate

I think with type of car, import and all, making sure it's the right one is crucial.

Patience my friend :D

Which sources are you keeping an eye on currently?

Steve

Get in touch with Andy at 200bhp cars,or Steve at Allvehicles.

They'll get you a good one, will be 3 months of waiting but well worth it in the end.

If your near Essex your more than welcome to have a drive in mine.

And can we ask what the budget is?

Steve

As mentioned above, to get the exact spec you want, it's often better to order something through a specialist importer who will scour the auctions for you then import the vehicle.

Personally cant fault neweraimports and they are very highly regarded in the import world.

Oh, and the majority of other importers use them anyway, plus the fixed fee is good, meaning you pay the actual auction price, plus there fixed fee and thats it.

Thanks for the flurry of replies guys, I'll do my best to try and answer a lot of replies at once... :)

I'm after a championship white DC5 with red recaros and the C pack. I want the pre-facelift version ie. 2001-2004 with no more than 40k miles, I'd rather have an immaculate 2001 car with 30k on the clock than a slightly shabby 2003 car with 40k etc.

My budget is around £12k however I would pay more if the 'right' car came up.

The current places I check 'hourly' :D are Autotrader, Piston Heads, itr-dc5.com forum and ebay. I have emailed Andy of 200bhp cars but have yet to had a response, I should ring him.

One problem that I have found out are pre-facelift cars fall into Band G of road tax if registered after 23rd March 2006, which is the highest tax bracket!!! So if I import one it will fall in this bracket, which means £300 this year, £400 the next and £??? the following... However if I find one registered pre march 2006 it falls in Band F which means money in the pocket!

Chris

In relation to the tax bracket it depends where the SVA was done and what check sheet they use.

Mine is Band F and its CO2 is quoted at 223g/km.

Most of them are in this bracket.

I'm sure Andy at 200bhp cars SVA test place use the lower CO2 emission bracket.

That's the third suggestion for Ian's place in this thread Stuart - perhaps he'll take the hint :P ;)

***NEWS***

Right I'm now going down the import route, so I can get exactly what I'm after! I've paid my deposit to Andy of 200bhpcars and he's going to find me a gem! :)

He reckons he can find me an 02/52 car, auction grade of 4, 4.5 (B) and something with about 15-20k miles on the clock, all within my original budget, which was better than I could of wished for. Plus the price includes 12 road tax, CAT 1 alarm, undersealing, and a full tank of fuel!! :)

Though the down side is, I probably wont be driving it until January, by the time it's bought, de-registered, shipped, re-registered and tested... :(

But still :D

Good news,i told you Andy is the guy to talk to.

If i was to get another import i would go to Andy 1st.

You never know i might if i decide to upgrade to the new Civic Type R.

Well i hope to see it when you get it,gonna be a long 10-12 weeks until you get it.

If you need a fix and your near Essex drop me a line.
