What extra's should I get - Fabia 2, 1.2

Featured Replies

Hi all

This is my first post, so please be gentle!

I've just ordered a Fabia 2, 1.2 (70bhp) and the car is due to be built 3rd week in November - so I've time to ammed extras if I want to.

Would any of you suggest any extras that I should get now, rather than wait and decide to add them (at higher cost) later? What shouldn't I go without?!?

I've already ordered front fog lights, and am thinking of cruise control.

Anthing else?

Cheers

Davey

Welcome to Briskoda,

enjoy your new car when it arrives, I would upgrade the rear brakes and add esp.

I'd add these:

Acoustic rear parking sensors

Cruise control

Maxi-dot trip computer

Multi-functional module on steering column for the radio

I'd add the esp option as it gives you rear discs and the rear parking sensors.

I'm not sure I'd bother with cruise as a 1.2 isn't going to be doing lots of miles on the m/way so I can't really see you using it that much.

Depends how much of a tart you are and what you go for asthetically! I'd have the climatronic (because it looks much posher than the standard air-con) the 16in wheel upgrade and sunset glass.

everything:P

Are heated seats an option? Very nice in the winter months :D

Chris

I would consider parking sensors over cruise control, especially if you find the rear view a bit restricted. The radio module is a good option too.

You should see the spec sheet on my Roomster, I only managed to hold off the cornering lights because I was running out of money!

I ordered the maxidot and don't regret it. It may seem expensive (£250), but for that you get the Fabia 3 instruments with 'proper' dials and gauges. The enhanced display is really useful.

Also got the m/f steering wheel and it works great (£60 only).

Thought about fog lights but didn't go for them - don't regret it - lights are pretty good.

Probably should have gone for ESP for safety but ran out of money!

The car has been great so far (7 weeks) - no rattles, feels solid and looks great in Black Magic pearl.

Think that fog lights are a waste of time as a cost option, considering the very limited circumstances in which you can, legally, use them. Unless of course you're off chaving around Romford. Upgrade the stereo and aircon. Much more useful.

I'd go for ESP , Front fog lights (not cornering ones) , Maxi dot , 16" Atria wheels , sunset glass , and curtain airbags , and Id ask for the floor mats for free , coz charging for them is taking the p!ss!! The only thing about that is by the time i'd spec up a 2 to how I wanted it , I may as well just get the 3.....

I've got a Fabia 3, ex demo so it came bog standard but it only had 700 miles and I got it for 2k under list price

Test drove a 1.2 though and was very impressed with that engine I can understand why you are going down the 1.2 Fab 2 route as I don't think you can get one with the 3 spec?

Also see rear discs are not an option on the 1.2.

Cruise is definately worth getting.

Get the tyre pressure sensors only £80 and a great safety feature.

Storage pack is also really cheap and useful.

i agree with Balck above

forget the extras, get one with a decent engine in it

Black , no you cant get a 1.2 (either spec) in the 3 trim.

Rear discs are an option (with ESP) on the 1.2 12V 80ps but not the 1.2 6V 70 PS (or the 1.4 TDI 70 PS).

Wow, thanks for all the responses! I'll have a think about all your suggestions, but yeah, I saw that I can't get the rear discs on a 1.2 - thats the only real negative I've found so far!
