My new Roomster Scout (Polar Blue)

Featured Replies

Collected my Scout yesterday afternoon and I'm really pleased with it. Looks great inside and out, and everyone at the dealer loved it and I think I may have persuaded them finally to get a Scout in on demo :)

Impressions so far:

- Engine (1.6) could do with a bit more go, but it's new and tight and requires a very different driving style to my 1.8T Octy.

- Ride is quite stiff but absorbs any bad roads really nicely, although they look better I think maybe 16in wheels are better than 17in for this reason, especially with the rough roads down here.

- Handling is pretty good from what I can tell so far! The steering is fluid and the front end feels nice and pointy. Doesn't really feel like a tall car to drive. Guess the wide rear helps.

- Driving position is very good, I'm 6ft-ish and have no problems with the centre console rubbing my knee.

- The headlights are much better than the Octys (and these are the standard ones and not the corerning option)

- Ditto for the stereo, much better than the Octy, especiallty with Cds.

- The room in the back is amazing, even with the front seat all the way back. I sat in the back last night, reclined the rear seat and it was very comfortable and relaxing looking up through the glass roof.

- Quality seems very good, inside and out. I noticed a little rattling somewhere from the boot area but have yet to investigate, it could be something obvious.

Overall, the inside and out of the Scout make the Roomster a much more desirable car and I wouldn't be surprised to see it become the best selling Roomster in the UK at least.

Nice review.

The look of the Roomster is slowly growing on me, and it does suit the "Scout" treatment.

Nice car mate. Nice wheels, nice colour, nice interior. Nice!!!

Glad I'm not the only one that does this :) Great colour by the way.

For some reason I thought you were buying an auto...

Thanks for the comments guys :)

Yep, Scout floormats too, a nice extra touch.

I tested the auto to see what the engine was like but went for it manual.

3 months from order to delivery but yes, I think it was worth it

Still have a lot of playing to do with the rear seats and I haven't fitted the bike holder yet. Got the boot cover and the ipod lead on order.

Yup - it looks *really* good!

Glad the wait is over. Another one to compare notes with!

since using the Roomster for a few days, I really like it. The Scout looks excellent I think and with the big wheels and privacy glass, looks years ahead of it's 'so called' competition (berlingo etc) I think it will grow with the public. Nice car, great choice.

Tell you what though, that pointed door corner will have someones eye out !!

Nice one, looks really good in blue, hope you are as happy with yours as I am with mine.

Welcome to the RooScouts!

Best looking one I've seen that - seems a good combination of the Scout looks, with a colour that seems to really suit it

Steve

Enjoy your car! :)

Lovely looking car

I like it
