what a plonker

ive seen a polo with a 2.8 badge on the back

Could have been correct that - there have been a few VR6 engine conversions done to them in the past :)

Debadging - I'm perfectly happy if other people think I drive a 318i :P

Steve

I've recently seen a V8 badged Vectra:confused: wtf?

And a E46 3-series (poverty spec and all) with a V6 badge stuck on it. Aren't the BMW 6-cyls straight 6s?

As to the OP, it would look silly but at least the vRS has a turbo in the first place.

I remember reading that (wrt BMWs) British customers tend to order a debadge on the bottom of the range (eg a 318) and the German customers tend to debadge the top of the range (eg a 330).

Psychology...don't you just love it.

Dan

I saw a 15 year-old Toyota Corolla the other day with an AC Schnitzer grille badge :D

De badging to me smells of I have a basic 318 company car as it's all my budget would go to but don't want you to know that, or am I only talking about BMW owners

I would not use the Prosche one either, I took mine off because the back looks btter IMO without it, like many people have, I dont have the base model.

I'm sure I've seen pictures of a TT with two 3.2 V6 engines in.

That's sort of a W12, only in two bits. ;)

Yup; a German tuning firm has got two V6 into a TT with some ridiculous amount of horsepower, and there is a Golf GTI floating around with the W12 engine - but they had to put it in the back seats/boot.

As for badging; stick to the OEM ones with a discreet Koni/Revo or similar as appropriate if need be.

As to a Briskoda badge - now that would be GOOD; enamelled and about the size of the vRS badge, say, 10cm x 2.5cm

Put a 1.6 badge off an A3 on mine and pulled badge off front grill and it is just perfect - no more ***** in Saxo's wanting to race at lights

... but surely as a vRS driver you are beyond racing Saxos; so I'd just let them get on with it and drive off in my own smug way knowing that I would/could beat them IF I wanted to. :D:cool:

I get your point but just like the idea of Q cars - next one up is an RS6 AVANT with 2.0 badge on it.

I know of an AMG C55 with a C180 badge on the back.

that's pathetic !!

Afraid I'm not. I usually just push them along for a little bit and then pull out and cruise past  Not really racing, more showing the little ***** that their VTRs aren't that quick after all. The lesson is don't try to race what you know you can't beat. It would be like me trying to race an M3, pointless as there will only be one outcome...

I am liking the sound of that. Nice and discreet and more likely to make people look at it wondering what it says.

With regards to badging, most people don't give a stuff about cars and don't even know/care what the badges mean. People in the know can usually smell a rat when silly badges are stuck on a car. There are lots of little clues on a car other than badges that can reveal it's true identity.

Fabia with RS4 badge not cool

Stuff it. If you're going to do these things they should be done properly.

W24.

A "push me pull you" W24 - one W12 in the front and a W12 on the back seats, add quad turbos and you could be looking at upwards of 1200BHP :D

Now that would make for an interesting project and could be a worthy adversary for the mighty Fabia 2.0

Isnt that the same as the pikes peak car thats in gran turismo 2 had an engine front and rear and about 920bhp

I recall the silly fast Pikes Peak car in GT2 but I havent played it in years. Wasn't it called something like the Escudo?
