cleaning sick

Featured Replies

My daughter decided to become ill near home tonight giving the car a hint of sick everywhere over the seat and floor. What will be the best thing to clear this? currently i have cleared out the sick and covered the seat in 1001 and now awaiting for it to dry, not that i like the smell of 1001.

A portable steam cleaner works a treat, like you can use on curtains etc.

i might be able to get hold of one of them as well, ill see how the 1001 does first. cheers!!

Not had to try this myself - but been told to get rid of sour smells (sick / sour milk etc) cut a large onion in half and let it sit in the car over night. No idea if it works but worth a try I guess

K2R dry cleaner spray works good

I got purple sick off my old fabby vRS seats with a very mild solution of warm water and soda crystals. Then once dry I used some fabreeze on the seats and some neutradol shake n vac on the carpets.

Both of the twins purged that day, one bright purple, the other a mild orange, still had 50 miles to go to my mum's and it was raining .......... I love kids :D:D

oh yes i love them too when they know they are ill but say nothing....

I will go out and inspect the car later to see how it looks today, have a feeling there be some to clean in the back of the car from where i took her back to her mums last night (saves me cleaning up... only joking).:D

Mmm, the smell of sick vs the smell of onions?

rather have the onions, think of the ch** s it will attract when they think you regularly go to muck donalds ;)

Bicarbonate of soda sprinkled over the area will absorb the smell and then just vacuum it off.

You would have to leave it for about 24 hours though I forgot to add.

Agree on the bi-carb.

Also the autoglym auto-fresh/neutraliser works well too on the smell.

cheers, might try the bi carb later, dreading going out to inspect it today.

The smell is from the stomach acid, which is why it is so nasty and acrid, the bi-carb reasts with this and neutralises this acid, but obviously needs cleaning off afterwards.

you learn something new everyday!! ;)

Stardrops works a treat too, not too much in warm water and it cleans everything.

well ive been out to vaccum off the 1001, seat is now a lighter shade of grey :( the smell left from the brown fluid that also exited is still on the seat, cant smell the sick but if you get close enough to the seat you can smell it. currently an air freshner is hanging on that side of the car (as i cant stand the smell of 1001 as it reminds me of dogs poo) and ive sprayed some frebreeze over it now, now awaiting for it to dry. looks like its bi carb tomorrow :(

I can see now why many members dont have kids or animals ;)

Try "DISTILLED" vineger believe it or not works very well , when my little lad was sick all over our caravan seats / carpet we got told to use 50/50 water & distilled vinegar , worked very well
