red light on door pin no longer flashes

Featured Replies

first of would my Y reg octavia slxi elegance come with and alarm as standard. secondly the last few times i have locked my car i have noticed that the red light on the door pin doesnt flash. does this mean that if i have an alrm it is not arming.

should still work ok, i beleive it is either a faulty bulb or a wire has come loose for the led. have you tried sitting in the car and setting the alarm??

Isn't the flashing red pin for the immobiliser?

Chris

Nope, its deadlocks. The red light isnt a normal bulb, its an LED which should last the life of the car. LEDs very rarely fail.

Its either become diconnected behind the door trim or there is a problem in the system, fault code check will help.

cheers everyone will check the sitting in car thing tonight. it seems to be an intimitant fault with the light as it worked earlier today

Sounds like a connection problem then.
