Featured Replies

Title says it all

A mate with a tuned Corsa 1.7TD has suggested a blast down the POD with me after Christmas. This got me thinking, ASR on or off in such a situation?

On = Power drop just when you don't need it

Off = Smokey tyres and not much forward motion

Off but dont boot it straight off feel the car.

I tested this at the airfield in Czech and ASR off was better by about a car length upto 60

Definately off, like you say with it on it cuts off the power just when you need it. I had a few runs at York raceway and was quicker without it on. Even if it doesn't kick in when it's on you'll accelerate slower for fear that it will kick in and cut the power. At least with it off if you get slippage you can back off a bit to correct it.

be careful though. If you have a standard clutch you need to know how much rpm you need for a quick getaway. Too much and you will need a clutch

What is a decent time for a standard and also remapped Octy?

off off off! learn some throttle control if you cant launch without lighting the tyres up. if you shift into second in mine with asr on at full chat the front wheels chirp and then asr cuts all power for about a second before gradually feeding you the power back... so again i say off and practice launching.

defo off!!

ive not found a TC that can beat a educated right foot off the lights ;)

Off, and learn to side-step the clutch. Beating V@*xh@11$ is important!
