What do you think on the grille surround coded?

Im starting to wonder if it looks ok or not!

Im also considering painting the inner surround of the headlight like Jabbaluke did on his beast....? Y/N?

I got a new surround from work, and painted in in my workshop.

So.....about 15mins when i swapped them over!

Is there a reason you blank the numberplate in the photo even though I can read it plainly in your avatar? ;)

Looks good in black to me. Still can never work out if I like the crease with the coded grille surrounds though...

Looks awesome I think!

What is the best way to strip all the chrome off? I took some rough sandpaper to it but it didnt do a lot!

Ive read putting in bleach does the trick?

Would the correct spraying method be..... remove chrome, lightly key the surface... spray with 2-3 coats of grey plastic primer... allow to dry for 24 hours, use a fine grit to sand it all smooth

then 3 coats of diamond black... 15 minutes between each.... then leave for an hour and then 3-4 coats of clear laquer with 10 minutes between.

allow to dry for 48 hours.... then polish up with some autoglym super resin to a good shine?

Also, do you need to jack the car up to fit the splitter?

Looks good that - I have it in mind for mine :)

Can't decide on the Cupra splitter from that angle though, don't think I'll put one on mine...

Yeah you can see how they dont fit right!

The carbon one i have nearly finished, fits 100%, and look great....!!

Joel, do exactly what you wrote!

Have got it on mine. I removed the chrome grill from the housing assembly and re-assembled the housing to the car. That way the car wasn't off the road at all.

I didn't remove the chrome, just rubbed down with Scotch wool, then with aerosols: primed with adhesion accelerator 1 coat; standard Halfords primer 2 coats; Skoda Black Magic 2 coats and finally Skoda lacquer 2 coats.

Rubbed down with 1200 grit prior to Black Magic.

That was a few months ago and no problems with peeling or chipping.

Was toying with fitting the splitter but from that angle it looks out of place.

looks very nice indeed wanna get mine done
