Problem playing video on N95

Featured Replies

can anybody help

During weekend of 5th November, i made a couple of vidz of fireworks.I uploaded these to my PC and saw they are MP4 files.

So I created an avi file, with MP4 video and MP3 audio, CBR (AVI container) and transferred this to the phone.

With Realplayer; I can see the file, it shows me a preview of the 1st frame, but when I try to play the file, it wouldn't have anything of it.

What is strange is that Realplayer allows me to read the file's header; avi file, with mp4 extension, time is....

What am I doing wrong? what restrictions do I need to adhere to?

Thanks

Realplayer is a bit funny with some video files, theres all sorts of things that can go wrong, ie specific MP4 encoding (there are variations) bitrate etc..

Easiest thing i can suggest is nokia video manager. do a search for it on the nokia site, its basically a one-click tool for converting videos to a format your phone will recognise, early versions were a bit buggy but it should be better now.

if your feeling a bit more adventurous, i use Vidaera ipod converter to convert divx/xvids into H264 which the N95 does support.

Any ipod video convertor will do the trick really..

nokia video manager, a bit buggy... lol

Think it might have to do with the version I am using

Anybody heard of Mobiola AVI/3Gpp/MP3 Media Player. All About Symbian - Software - Mobiola AVI3GppMP3 Media Player

looks like this allows you a one-click conversion?
