Sounds like your meet was a success pal, hope you had better weather than us down storm battered Southport. Had any thoughts about a date and venue for the second episode in January? I was thinking the Toby carvery pub near tesco extra in Carlisle has a well lit spacious car park out back and the food is fantastic and they have a decent range of ales.

Now, what's this about you being a rally driver on the quiet and you feeling intimidated by black Fabias?.... lol.:D

:thumbup:Yeah it went well on the whole. A few improvements for the next one. Have a good road in mind and we'll have some more thought for a meeting venue, but thats a good suggestion Mark. I think that February is looking most likely for meet mk2. Will get some suggested dates up soon along with some more info. Decided I might let black Fabia's come along, if they can keep up. :P Hope to see you all coming along.

Lovely jubbly, cant wait pal and i just heard today that ScoobyChris may have a drive up too, word is spreading fast... lol.

The next one i come to Captain Scarlet , i,m bringing a 4x4 lol

 Fear not the roads that are in mind are a bit wider than saturdays, and hopefully not as dirty. lol. :)

Though bull-bars might be of use if that cow is out again eh bro :)

LOL yeah, looked like it was out having a take away. At least we'd have some supplies to have a nice bbq. :D

You know my car was having a purge cycle. Guess what happened after I left you. The dpf light came on. :( So gave it some revs and yesterday morning it went out :D:thumbup: Now she's running sweet again.

What do you think that road would be like the other way? Without giving away any clues to it's location.

Should be good in either direction I think :) I'll have to try my full "Nurburgring of the North" route out too, I'll show you it if it's as good as I think it will be :D

Cant belive the dpf light came on that quik after saturdays run out .

I have a nice little route for you lot when you come over to the north east lol

i,m sure vRSphil knows it , nice little place just outside Osmotherly right in the heart of the north yorks moors , finally stopping off at whitby for fish & chips

Sounds like fun to me :D

How about Stokesley to helmsley down the 1257 then across to york on the 1363..... or if anyone fancies having a REALLY big accident then we could go down the rollercoaster road through Castle Howard

That road can form the return leg of the Northburg Ring :D I'll check out the full route and see how long it takes, photo opportunities etc..

Yeah the light coming on was a shock to me too, but all's well now.

Sounds a nice route you've got in mind, and the fish and chips is always a nice idea.:)

Like the sound of the Northburg Ring. I've a good place in mind to finish at too as long as it's open.

about the dpf light... have you read the manual? In the Fiat its not a fault if it comes on, it just needs a burn... my book says, just stop and let the car idle until the light goes out again (has to reach a certain temp or something, to perform the burn) ..

maybe nothing wrong, maybe just wanted a burn to clean out :)

edit: and I'll be at the next one assuming I'm not busy ;)

Maybe the light means that the ECU has detected a tractor engine under the bonnet? :P

From what I've read the Octavia runs a purge cycle to burn off the soot, by raising the revs at idle to get the temperatue up. By reving it I meant just driving to work but using a gear lower than I would normally as I went. I presume this would get the temperature up.

Since you ask I checked in the manual and if I've understood it correctly the light coming on indicates the filter is full. To burn off the soot it says to drive at least 60 km/h for 5 - 10 mins. If the light remains on Engine Fault Workshop will be displayed.

So it is similar to yours, being not actually a fault. Now she's back to full health.

Looking forward to seeing you at the next meet. Would February be ok for everyone? or would May be better.
