Golf V GTi gearknob fitted to vRS TDi

Featured Replies

Today i got fed up with rubbish oem gearknob in my 07 vRS TDi. So i bought VW Golf V GTi one and started to work. Sorry but no photos of fitting process only after ones.

Gear gaiter and rim doesn't fit so only the gearknob was going to be changed.

It was somewhat nervecracking job to do because original gearknob was so tightly fitted that we were forced to break the connection (that's not the right word :D). But everything came out great!!

I actually like the look of that, very chunky

Pity there isn't any chrome on it though, doesn't the Golf gator surround have a chrome trim around it??

Oh, and hoover your footwells!!

That looks really good...... Matches the dash too.

I wonder if it'd fit on the fabia vRS????? Would have thought it would.

Cheers

Dave.

It's winter here in Finland. No point! It's salt and sand everywhere on roads. Car keeps itself clean about 5 km after a wash.

I know the feeling, my car is staying clean for about 2 days what with the country lanes being the way thay are at the moment

Looks well, how much did she cost, i thought they were expensive. my wedding ring has the OEM one ruined, i quite like that one, Easy to fit?

Like it, but I bet it was'nt cheap!!

I can't say exact cost because my friend sell oem VW and Audi parts so my prices aren't any good in making comparison.

Fitting wasn't that hard. It just takes bit bravery to hack your original parts when there wasn't 100% certainty that replacement will fit. :)

prefer the OE one myself after seeing pics of it done now...

We were talking about this recently - I like.
