This has been factored also.....i mentioned when discussed........

Mind you she was watching Eastenders at the time and sort of gave off grunting noises and the occasional wave of the hand...not sure what that meant....

Superted, if you do go ahead and order I'll wish you the best of luck but I think I'd have to wait until you'd done it before I'd order mine. I'm also keen to keep an eye on the other big turbos being released in the future mainly the VF Engineering kit and also the Revo Stage 3 which would be my personal preference.

In regards to the fuel pump - I think Autotech is the one to go for at the minute. $330 IIRC. As for the DV I would get the BSH DV as it works really well and sounds mint.

Dammit. Group Buy anyone? :D

I think I would prefer to go with an S3 relocation rather than the BSH DV kit. I like the idea of retaining the OEM control over the DV.

Whats involved in doing this? Are more parts required or will it be case of making stuff up as you go along!.

You need a few parts from the higher HP TFSi such as the S3 and the very nice Mr Ellis to make you a stainless steel elbow pipe to use with your EVOMS.

I have a list here already prepared as I am thinking of doing it - Current events have put a hold on it for now.

To be fair I hadn't considered the S3 relocation route.

I've just been browsing the BSH website and it looks like you have the option of ordering an install package with the kit, aswell as the Autotech fuel pump and other bits you might not have - looks pretty good at the moment

Bulletproof Speed Hardware :: Volkswagen :: MKV GTi, Jetta, Rabbit (06+) :: 2.0T Engine :: Forced Induction :: Turbo Kits :: Bulletproof Spec 2.0T Turbo Upgrade

Looks pretty comprehensive.

Hmmm, get car repaired OR put up with the damage and get this?? (tricky one ;))

You guys are lucky - my insurance is a lot more than the price of this!!!

My guess insurance with these mods would be a whole different ball game.

"And what was the power increase over standard, sir?"

"About 75%"

Kerching!

Just think of it though, 350bhp under your right foot would be fecking awesome!!!!!

Sort out the injectors and other restrictions, and with proper mapping (Revo Stage 3 perhaps?) you might be looking at 400bhp+ with ridiculous amounts of torque...now that would be fecking awesome.

Guys - has any one been able to estimate what the standard block and internals can take reliably? I know for the MK1 VRS it was 320-350 but Ive not read of many people running bigger turbos on the Mk 2 lump?

Lee

I think the standard injectors give up after 350bhp

I think the standard injectors give up after 350bhp

And the rods, pistons etc are good for that Im guessing?

I'd think so. It's when you start reaching 400bhp that you might run into trouble. VF Engineering include engine internals with their RS/R kit which is capable of 450bhp, but not their RS/R kit which makes 350.

Would'nt hurt whacking these in while you're at it.............................

Forged Piston Set

Or what about this for an intermediate cheaper 'quick fix'......................

Water/Met Injection Kit

Would'nt hurt whacking these in while you're at it.............................

Forged Piston Set

Chucking a new turbo at it is one thing but head off and new pistons would up the bill quite significantly

To be honest I think this kit as it is will run well with just Revo Stage 2 software, the Autotech fuel pump and either the BSH DV or the S3 relocated DV.

If you want more power later its always possible to do the internals and up the power at a later stage.

You taking this one over Mr Stu................Combined effort in trials maybe.....

I did phone for the prices etc and I have a comprehensive list of the parts required. Had planned to fit it to this car but as you know current events (and my current unexplained lack of enthusiasm with the car) have put pay to it for now.

You could use all OEM parts if you were using OEM intake but with the MK1 EVOMs you'd need an adaptor which is where the very nice Mr E comes into play.

Current events? all sounds very cryptic

Ouch :D get's to most of us in the end, don't think I would ever move, going up the chain would mean giving up on to much for me (would be me giving up 2 bikes and bits n bobs for the car .... not the mrs giving up on her "essentials" :D).

Back on topic .........

Big turbo, very nice ..... etc, but at the risk of being flamed, shirley that taking that hike in power is going to also have to include the cost of putting a peloquin or quaife atb in as well to make the most of it.

I can't help thinking that taking that next step up would be better served by shelling out on a different car, some decent M3's and RS4's around for the price of a new octy plus tuning.

I do miss the old vRS though
