koni lowering springs

Featured Replies

Anybody tried Koni springs then?????? (As the title of this thread says!!!!!!!!!!)

I have FSD's with Eibach springs, when they 1st whent on my car was more understeery then before and thats scary lol as standard they are bad, I then got new rims with tiny little tires and it sorted it out a hell of \alot it was back to about ten percent oversteer, I had my wheels tracked and alighned and some slight toe added and it set it nuetral, then one day I needed to break realy hard and my car slurred all over the show, So I added upper and lower front struts and tightend the back with lower strut, also new ARB's and then went and breaked real hard, this was scary as i **** myself before!, Anyhow the car stayed pretty level and was better when steering under heavy breaking.

Im also a football manager and when my car is loaded with people and kit the handaling is shocking, when they all get out its back to top stuff again, my car is setup for how it usealy is, myself and one or two others.

Koilovers i turned my back not because of cost because thats minamal but because dentist's charge alot of doller.

still no one commented koni's own spring kits :-) is it possible that nobody tried them?

Hello Farcrygamer. In answer to your question I would say no one has fitted Koni Springs, as like the Eibachs there does not appear to be a correct set for the Octy MK1 VRS.

I did post a few questions in a previous threads as I was very interested in a lowering spring set up. At the time I could not find much info, but seems this thread has all the debate going. Although yours was a simple question, in peoples quest to get a decent suspension set there really appears to be little choice for the Octy Vrs. Having gone the Koni FSD shock route and being persuaded that Eibachs would be ok, I went that route. Although most of the time the car handles ok, when pushed lightly hard or pulling away fast takes considerable ammount of fighting with oversteer, torqe steer and a general concern that i can keep it in a straight line. I put this down to a number of factors, diferent ARB / Strut brace set up. But never thought that the Eibachs may be causing this.

What Beretta and AwesomeSarah have stated makes a lot of sense to what effects I am getting with my car.

At the time coilovers were a dearer option and looking at it now by the time my HR springs come(which are listed for VRS) I would have spent the same as coilovers.

I will let folks know when I get the HR springs fitted on any handling improvements.
