Anyone trading their vRS SE in for a BMW??

Featured Replies

My local dealer has "finally" managed to source me a 5000ish mile vRS SE, It won't be ready for a month or so however as the guy trading the car has to wait a month for the specific colour of BMW he has ordered ...Am just wondering if the owner of said vRS SE is a Briskoda follower!

I bet he's not if he's selling the thing! What a lightweight!

Or maybe they want a car with 200+bhp that handles propperly and can be insured for less than it would take to put a fabia to that level.

That plus the nuts insurance on the VRS and the rapidly falling value of modified fabia (colG) seems to suggest that maybe they just have financial sense and want a better car ;)

The bloke looking for the Beemer isn't a certain bench-pressing prop forward from Wales is he? If so, make sure that he takes his solar-powered air con and brim-to-brim fuel consumption calculations with him!

Spoke like a true BMW driver!

I was going to say spoke like a true t**t, but I guess it amounts to about the same thing

Why? Mark's summary seems entirely fair, and if you disagree with it then how about a reasoned retort rather than just inferring personal abuse?

The thing thats been forgotten is that to get 200BHP (which you need just to pull the BMW lump along!) that handles 'propperly' You have to spend 3x the amount than you would on a Furby! '));self.focus();"]computertoss.gif

Coming to BMWs near you soon! ;)

Well said by John Grant.

I just find Mark's comments generally said with a conceited attitude and often as useful as a tit on a bull.

The bloke who created this thread has decided on an SE, why is it ok for Mark to belittle the cars faults and comment on for £12k (or whatever) it isn't as good as a bmw? Had the thread said 'I have just bought an SE, what sort of everyday problems can I expect?' I would nearly understand it.

I would upgrade mine for an SE if I could

Coming to BMWs near you soon! ;)

Mark and Emilly, sitting in a tree............

I'll move this to the MKI Fabia section where it should be.

wasnt the vrs timed to 120 in the same time a bmw 328ci does it in? may have even been the 330i

No, Rob, it's not fair. This is exactly what we're sick of. The thread is asking if the SE is owned on here. I don't see how Mark's post even has any relevance. He's just slating a Skoda on a Skoda forum. Why?? There's nout wrong with the Fabia, it is what it is and is a decent enough little car. Personally I hate fiestas, do I go on Ford sites slating them for no reason? No.

There is just no need for it, especially when this guy is gonna buy one ffs!! Way to make him feel huh? Considering you're a mod I would have though you should be discouraging this kind of behaviour

Cheers emily and go Loz!

I just dont understand why people on a SKODA forum want to bad mouth them?! If you hate them that much and love BMW's instead then join a BMW forum and leave us to love our Skoda's in peace!

And to the soon to be owner of a furby SE, congrates! you will love this car and its character, plus you have the creme de la creme of Furby VRS's! Enjoy!

He isn't belittling the Fabia - he's just explaining why (heaven forbid) someone might choose a BMW over a Fabia for those who don't seem to understand that the Fabia is not the pinnacle of motoring perfection.

Cost doesn't really come into in this context.

Rob.

The standard of grammar in this thread is appauling. innit, like.

As Emily pointed out, it was the way the post was phrased etc. We don't care who wants to buy what car, but that post and ones like it are not necessary - I refer you to my previous post.

The thread isn't saying 'should I buy a fabia or a BMW'. His post was not needed.

Pinnacle of mototring perfection eh....from the dude in the Micra

He's not slating the Fabia...he's pointing out why someone might prefer a BMW. Which is more likely to make this thread more balanced and interesting to read than a bunch of Fabia drivers going on like their car is the best thing ever and how all BMW drivers are onanists.

There's nout wrong with the Fabia, it is what it is and is a decent enough little car.

Undisputed. But there are better things out there, and some people class the BMW as better than the Fabia - why is that so hard for people to comprehend?

especially when this guy is gonna buy one ffs!! Way to make him feel huh?

If he's happy with his choice, why should he care that it's not got some of the benefits a car that's more expensive has?

Considering you're a mod I would have though you should be discouraging this kind of behaviour

Not at all - opinions expressed in a clear accurate way that stimulate discussion are welcomed as far as I'm concerned.

Are you sure? It sounds like it does:

Yes, my car is cack and there's plenty which is better out there (BMWs included). Doesn't really bother me, I'm pretty secure and happy with the choice I made. :)

The reason cost was bought up was that he is comparing two cars that are in a different leagues! Its like a Aston owner saying how cr*p the handling is on a BMW!

I think whats got on peoples nerves is the way it was all said, it did come across very snooty IMHO.

I blame the guy who started the thread! :D

He didn't 'choose' a fabia over a BMW, he bought a Fabia and then swapped it for a BMW for his own reasons.

Did anyone ask for reasons to swap a Fabia for a BMW... No

The reason cost was bought up was that he is comparing two cars that are in a different leagues!

Totally agree - but the seller in the OP can afford a car in a different league to the Fabia, so I'm not really sure why people are getting defensive about it and calling Mark for pointing this out?

I think whats got on peoples nerves is the way it was all said, it did come across very snooty IMHO.

I guess that's the trouble with written text...
