Woo hoo - settlement figure!

Featured Replies

As some of you may know my car was totalled a couple of weeks ago. I thought I'd have to fight tooth and nail to get a decent settlement from them. I had a call this morning - £1100 - pretty much exactly what I paid for it! They also advised me that they'd have to take off the £268 left to pay on my premium as I'm paying by instalments. Gutted. But then he said that if liability wasn't disputed I would get a refund of that money. I told him that the 3rd party had already accepted liability - he checked and confirmed so said I'd get a refund back on that too. Reeeeesult! So, I just have to find a new car now. I have 8 more days in the hire car, so it needs to be before then........

Haha, bet yor enjoying ruining the hire car.

A good result. :)

Nice to see a good result.

Good result there mate! Now go buy a fabia VRS!

Great stuff, always nice when a story has a happy ending. :)

I think not - far too expensive. I have a fast toy anyway, a Kawasaki ZZR1200. This vehicle is just to pootle to and from work in the depths of winter.

well done :D

Buy some heated thermals ;)

Great result on the Insurance too!

Its a deposit!

good skills. now go and rag the nutts off that hire car.

Was it the 206 that hit your Felicia?

or was that someone else?

But glad it's all worked out.

What hire car have they given?

I was given a Corsa 1.2 SXI but it just didn't handle as well as well as the Felicia does despite the Corsa being newer.

Did give it a few wheel spins and handbrake turned it on the works gravel car park.

Just sold my ZZR1200 :)

Now go and put a deposit on a vRS, like you have been told to :)

Well done on your settlement - go get another Felicia - you can't beat them!

like stunts i also use the car for winter and cold late night journeys, but the bike for good weather.

just put the £1200 down as a deposit and keep the bike!

The hire car is a Citroen C4 - ragging it as much as I can ;)

Unfortunately with an 11 month old baby in the house we can ill afford a finance package on a new car! As I said - this is only a winter hack for me so I can keep my bike spick and span in the garage during winter. We have a family motor that we all use, but this will just be for going to and from work. I'm thinking of finding a 1.9 turbo diesel of some description - maybe a golf or similar.

any chance of u getting the skoda badge off, and ill givu a fiver or wotever, as mine is pretty crappy???

i vote get a favorit now :D

Jorily Skoda on Ebay sells them for £8 I think if you have no luck elsewhere :)

There's a 120 T&T til March on ebay less than £200, look in the Other Models forum posted by Woodie
