Xenon Headlights

Featured Replies

I thought, as suggested above that Xenon's were illegal, unless you had washers and adjusters?

This is fabia with reflectror lights and h7 hid kit... and you are still asking why you get flashed... its like you`re driving with full beams all time!

For everyone here with xenon kit, this picture tells how your car looks like when they see you on a dark road. :thumbdwn:

Picture is taken about 15m in front of car at head hight.

Thats why it's illegal!

Please don't fit them. I value my retinas and even if I do survive you passing, I don't wanrt to stuff my Furby into a tree :)

Today I think that I passed a Ford Mondeo - previous model, with what looked like Xenons fitted without projector lens - ie an aftermarket kit - it certainly looked very very bad, probably made someone feel very good but messed up everyone else who had the misfortune of being anywhere near them. Exactly, don't do it, stick to furry dice in quiet colours!

by all means, get a set of projector headlamps, and then fit the HID kit, that'll at least have them pointing in the right direct :)

Fitted HIDs to my Seat ibiza after having them as standard on my golf... got to say with reflector headlamps...

a) my car looked ****

B) i was flashed everywhere i drove

c) i didn't have the distance i was recieving from my standard halogen bulbs

d) it was illigal... no headlamp washers.

So after two weeks... HIDS have gone... and now running halogens again.

Uprated to 'Osram Nightbreakers' extremly good upgrade halogen bulb, fully admit no where near as good as factory fit xenons... but a marked improvement on standard and much better than aftermarket HID kits.

Keep it safe, and keep it legal

  • 2 weeks later...
