Golf GT motor & a Diesel verson.

Mike,

Is that good or bad then? Do tell...

Any links, Had a quick look couldn't find anything

Golf GT = 170BHP, 220BHP with remap, that in a fabia would be a good thing IMHO! :D

Don't suppose it'll be DSG though Mike

They also do a 150 version of the 1.4 TSi engine which would probably be the most likely.

And not powered by Satan's fuel either

The mags are fairly vague though...they now know there will not be one next year so they add another year on and make the car sound even more outlandish....IMHO...!

it's in the news section, right hand page, right hand "in brief" column...

spoke to my local dealer friday and the guy said that in a conference, it was announced that a new fabia vrs would not be made in the forseeable future so there is a chance it will not even come out in 09

It will be a BIG mistake not to do a diesel vrs furby....that was why the old one was such a success and all the others are making something similar

I cant see them doing anything but the same as the Octy; one petrol, one diesel

Shame, Skoda are very close to missing / losing repeat customers

How many here like me are due to change soon, and would like another Fabia vRS BUT due to the hesitancy are looking elsewhere ?

I'm looking at an Octy...

Me mate, my Furby vRS is over 3 years old and it's going to be changed early next year.

The octy is a lovely car, but pushing £20k for the mid range model with the sports bit on and extras is just not my cup of tea, so it looks like I'll be moving away from Skoda as they can't even tell their loyal customers some truth about the next one, which may persuade some people to hang on if they did?

Yes, I could buy a normal Octy but if Skoda can't be bothered to give us any proper news regarding the new vRS, why should I stay loyal and buy another vehicle from them????

Don't get me wrong, I have loved every minute with this car and it will be a shame to see it go, but needs must and every year I keep this one, I can't claim as much off my tax bill!!!!!:D

I have said before I would keep the current car until the latter part of 2008 at the latest to see if there was a new vRS to change to but I have changed my mind now, probably going get a top of the range TDCI new Focus with all the bells and whistles on it. I'm looking towards more luxury than speed now and a 140TDi will be plenty for me.

Ben :)

Hey, F*ck them...................there is a Mazda 2 weighting at 1000kgs and a twin scroll turbo 1.6 and 180 ish BHP out next year :)

Mike

I got totally fed up with the "it will, it won't" deal on the new Fabia vRS and don't like buying brand-new models, ('08 Superb), so I moved to an '06 Volvo S60 D5 Geartronic, with all the toys, (except Volvo satnav which ain't good, apparently). Lovely bit of kit and thoroughly enjoying it.

So, in a couple of years I might be lined up for another Furby vRS or a used "new" Superb. Must say that I had forgotten the pleasures of bigger-car motoring.........and to heck with fuel costs. :D

they got until march 2010 to make a vrs (and a decent one) otherwise i will sadly have to move away - hopefully the octy vrs will still be out though...

The new model Fabia has not been out that long what always happens with run of the mill cars is that the basic models come out first then out comes the warmer versions and maybe just maybe if there is a real sales potential will they make a GTI like model.

Im guessing youd have left Ford long long ago waiting for the next RS....

I don't get it.

Why don't people assume that until they see proof there isn't going to be a new vRS model fabia and look at the options available to them when they are looking to change.

If you want a new car now then change it for something else, in 3 years time they might have bought out a VRS and fixed the teething problems all cars have.

This is all very bizarre and unless the OP's here intend to buy a brand new car as a replacement (why do people buy new cars....like throwing money dorwn the drain) . Given that to Skoda it makes no difference your current car still needs Skoda parts and some will even get a 3+year old car main dealer serviced for some money wasting reason.

If you have had your car for 3 years from new why are you thinking about selling it why not keep it a further 3 years? That way you'll save a fortune on depreciation and interest payments and by then will have a vastly bigger deposit to put down on the next vRS when it comes out.

I've bought a new car before!

We were looking at options from Fiat for my mum. Brand new Fiat Panda for 4995. :D

She wanted something new, fast, reliable so went for the Panda, great choice as she could have ended up with a very old and slow rust bucket such as the Fiat Turbo Coupe :)
