Can anyone recommend anything else that i should do before i get my car remapped.

Mods so far-

Milltek 2.5" Turbo back exhaust

Forge FMIC

Forge T.I.P. & Boost hoses

Green cotton air filter with smoothed air box

Forge DV

Neuspeed 28mm arb

R32 Front arb

Dogbone & ARB bushes

S3 Lower brace

New discs all round with ds2500 front pads & standard rear

Looking for mods that with aid the remap as i have plans to upgrade shocks to Koni fsd.

It should be fully up to date with servicing including Cam Belt. Might be worth chucking a new MAF on and also keep a couple of ££ handy incase you discover any split hoses.

Going for Custom code.Think they have a very smooth map and the 30% off is an offer i can't refuse.Either will be JBS or may get them to come out to me since they do mobile maps now.

Only problem is that i may change cars next year!

Don't worry it will be another mk1 vrs just a little newer,so i can swap all the parts over including the ecu.

Yes,i cut the fins off and sanded them down.

Is it worth doing,i don't know for sure.It's sounds slightly louder.

I have got another original air box and want to fit that just to compare logs to see it it makes any difference.Should get chance over christmas to do this and log the difference in vagcom.

What did you cut them off with?

I was tempted to do this mod, I haven't got a spare air box tho. Can't see it causing any problems and wouldn't mind a bit more induction noise for free.

Sharp knife is the best way,but getting started was the hard part.The fins near the right hand side of the box are the ones i started cutting 1st as they get easier after that.

I only just brought the spare air box to compare logs.

You getting excited about the remap Matt? I know I was about mine (sad I know). The novelty still hasn't worn off...

Not yet as ive still got 3 days of work to get though but i can feel it building up though.

It will be a nicer drive back home though i reckon
