rear brake pads

Featured Replies

should rear pads need replacing before your front ones this is the first time this has ever happened to me do you think my rear brakes might be binding ? i have a 56 plate vrs with 41k on it and bog standard and also how much would a main stealer charge for rear brake pads fitted?

thanks Richard

I would just put this down to wear and tear some things will last longer than others.

That's some driving dude!

Usually the disc rots before the pads go! 41k isn't that bad though but to be honest your front pads should have gone before then and it might be worth getting hte balance checked out.

They take about 1/2 an hour to replace if you have the winder tool.

My rears lasted 50K (both discs and pads) and they were shot.

Mine has done 31500 miles on the clock but I think the discs and pads were replaced about a year ago by the last owner.

my rear pads were replaced at 33k first, then the second set lasted 47k (but they were shot then, so were the discs....)

so I'd say 41k is normal ;)

i only changed the rear pads on mine at 53k , they weren't even half worn , but have had some track abuse , would of easily lasted another 30k
