Fabia clutch switch?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if the fabia's have a switch on the clutch to tell the ECU to keep the engine rev's up between gearchanges?

The girlfriends fabia (2000, 1.4l) always returns to (its very lumpy) idle between changes, wether youre doing 7 or 70mph, the result is a nasty takeup when releasing the clutch if you dont manually keep up the RPM. It normally idles at about 8-900 rpm, not sure if this is correct or not as it shudders an awful lot too.

My own car (old fiesta) will raise the engine revs between gears when youre moving more than about 20mph, which makes things go more smoothly. I'm sure the skoda must have something similar as its a much nicer car.

The fabia still has its old issues which i've asked about previously, seems to be lacking in 'oomph', and i've noticed a petrol smell when coming to a stop after a driving at speed for some distance, as if the air catching up with you is full of unburned fuel. plugs have been changed recently and all look fine, new coil pack was fitted about 1000 miles ago which cured an engine warning light.

Cheers, Dave.
