TFSI non start

Featured Replies

Hi all, having trouble with a Octy 2 TFSI 2.0 the vehicle according to the customer was running turned ignition off and would not re-start, there is no fault memory the engine will turn over and trys to fire on all cylinders but jusy wont pick up.

Compressions are good 200psi valve timming correct no exhaust dammage i.e blocked exhaust, fuel/spark ok but ive noticed the plugs are very wet could this be where the problem lies i.e to much fuel.

Looks like that's an issue that is best answered by one of our 'tech' types on here, VRStu or Lummox, but you may have to join Freedom to get it :)

Freedom??

Freedom??

Aye, 'Freedom' is our name for membership to the site, the small subscription helps to maintain servers and keep the site running smoothly. You question is of a particular 'Technical' nature and therefore would normally be answered by one of our 'technical types' which is one of the benefits of Freedom membership

Have you exhausted all of the tests on GFF?

Have you got fuel pressure at the engine - you can get rail pressure with MBV.

What about coil packs - does it have the latest ones?

I'm probably way off the mark but a friend has a TDi Bora, wouldn't start due to a throttle body problem. Just when you mentioned wet plugs, I not too sure how the Throttle body gauges the amount of fuel put in but might be worth looking at.

Btw Sorry if I'm way off the mark
