Hi everyone,

I have at last bought myself an '02 Octavia Elegance 1.8T 4x4 estate. I am delighted with it so far, except for one thing: the dashboard illumination seems only to be about half as bright as it is on every other car I have ever had, despite having turned the brightness control right up. It's adequate, but pretty disappointing – especially with such small text on the radio controls.

The dealer from whom I bought it swears that no bulbs have gone. Is this dull illumination just a characteristic of Octavias, or is there perhaps a problem? Has anyone else experienced the same thing?

I'd be interested to hear what anyone out there thinks.

I have exactly the same car and agree, the dash is dim

PS get it remapped!!

Is it just turned down? Control is near headlight level control. Its just that mines fully turned down and still bright enough on 4x4 hatch.

Ps if not remapped get it done, well worth it
