Oil Burner Vrs Gone - Bring On The Turbo

Featured Replies

Had 2 VRS's now and the TDI VRS has just gone back, thought I'd go for something different for a while, now got a 2.0T (220PS) Audi A4 S-Line Special Edition: 18" RS4 rims, de-chromed, twin exhausts, full leather, 7" colour sat nav. Only drawback is, compared to the Octavia, the boot is ****e!

Very nice!!

Despite the "Skoda's are just cheap Audi's" comments you hear I would imagine you have already felt the big jump in quality. We've got an A4 SE TDI at the moment and to be frank it's in a different league for things like cabin noise.

I like the de chromed front end, very RS4.

Personally I would opt for the 3 litre derv if I had the money.

Lovely car that.

Very nice indeed  but I think it may be a few pennies more than a vRS TFSI?

very nice :D

This is the way I am thinking of going after my current RS but will hold out for the new B8 A4. Thing is that I like the big boot of the Octy and hopefully they will have that sorted in the B8.

Very nice looking motor!

Yes, the cabin noise is a lot better, and the ride is so smooth, it makes it feel slower than the Skodas, as it's just smooth all the way to the red line, 70 in second though is definatley not slow. I will try and update the poor pic, of the front end!

As for the pennies, well yes this retails at about £25,500, but it's a scheme car so I only keep it for 6 months, hence not being able to wait for the B8 as I was due to change (may have one next though) it's costing me £43 a month more than the VRS TDI.

Turncoat!

A wise move on the 6 month period, the all new A4 should be excellent. It's almost as long as an A6 so interior space shouldn't be an issue.

It has to have the 3 litre derv and the LED running lights - chavtastic :D;)

My mate got one exactly the same a while back - very nice car. The difference in cabin quality is definitely noticeable and I'd also echo that from the experience of my TT.

In terms of mechanical quality I wouldn't expect it to be superior though.

As already mentioned the boot on the Octy puts the Audi to shame a bit.

Performance wise I'd say there was nothing in it despite the additional 20bhp of the Audi but I'd but that down to the 4WD transmission. The 4WD is however a massive plus point over the VRs!

Is it worth the £8k premium over a VRs?, personally I'd say not but some would disagree.

It's not the Quattro mate, it's 2 wheels drive! And as stated I don't actually own it, it's leased on a scheme as I work for VW group. Only costs me £160 pm.

My VRS cost just £112

I'd bloody have one too for £160 a month :D

that looks pretty damn good

I'd have two for that price!
