I have an elegance Octavia II without maxidot so i went to the dealer to get my timing changed but he says the coming home lights timing cannot be changed with VAC or w/e there computer is called so can anyone please confirm this currently running 80 secs and everybody keeps telling me "Mate left your lights on " :P

They should be able to change it with their computer.

I didn't think the Elegance had the leaving/coming home lights unless specified with the light assistant.

Either that or the previous owner had access to VAG-COM.

I think if when you leave the car, lock it with the remote ( lights come on ), open again and lock again ( lights go out).

I thought it was possible, if the dealer activated?

Yep, 60 seconds max with maxidot. I did go into mine the other week becuase I was getting people coming after me saying you left your lights on, but then at the end of the day, 60 seconds suits me at home when the car is in/out of the garage so I'm afraid I'll have to put up with the kind folk who come after me!

With unlocking, loading up etc I'd rather have a longer delay with them on so it means the lights don't go out before I have time to start the car - I don't like the idea of the lights going on-off-on many times over the time I own the car as it can't be good for them.
