When is Skoda going to give us a car like....GTR!

Featured Replies

£35k or $70k Skoda....

If I could afford that, I wouldn't be buying a Skoda!

Well Nissan is hardly a prestige badge now is it?

Same here :)

That GTR is a nice bit of kit for the money

That Renault GT-R is quite nice isn't it

Go and post that on the Porsche forums as Skoda is out of that car's league and therefore wasted here.

If I had that sort of money I would be chuntering around in a nearly new RS4 or 911 - not a black Octavia in Diesel flavour.

The sad thing is, that after the inordinate 12+ months it is taking Nissan UK to get their act together and land this beast in Blighty (its not like it needs reengineering the Japs drive on the same side of the road!!) they have indicated the UK OTR will be £60k

Me thinks the Rice importers will be rubbing their hands for the next year and beyond as they will no doubt still deliver them at less than UK prices.

I would like that very much

The R34 was circa £50k here, so not much surprise at the predicted UK cost for this revision.

I liked Evo this month :D

I feel that in the near future the skoda engineers will put the golf's w12 650hp engine under the bonnet and name it as OCTAVIA GT W12

Sounds nice doesn't it ?

and i forgot to mention it will be cheaper too :)

Although I think I read in Evo that the car would feature some clever GPS gadgetry which would record how and where the car had been driven. AFAIK, they've also stopped it being tuned which means that Jap import cars may have some issues running our lower octane fuel....

Does look impressive though and will be interesting to see some more reviews of it.

Most nights when i dream i can see the GT-R :p

I still lust after an R34, if I could ween myself off these silly motorised bicycles then I could probably juuuuuuuuust stretch to one......

or I can carry on dreaming :)

Of course companies will tune them!

The guys at Top Secret in Japan (who do 1200+bhp R34s) will get around any blocks that Nissan put in there!

But.......................if you take the GTR on a track, the GPS recognises where you are & which track you are on & de-restricts the engine!!

I don't know how true this as someone told me this.

why not just post this thread in General Car Chat and leave out the Soda reference?
