Climate Control - How do I check its working?

Featured Replies

I have been having a few intermittent problems with my climate control, mainly switching itself from Centigrade to Faranheit, however this could be my fair lady randomly pressing buttons until it does what she wants!

I seem to remember in the summer with the A/C set to auto the fans would run under the bonnet, with the A/C set to econ they would switch off. My question is will those fans still run in winter (around freezing point) with the A/C on and a cold engine?

What I was trying to show my wife was the quick clear/demist feature of A/C however I suspect it may have stopped working.

My car has only 3 months warranty remaining so I need to sort this asap if that is the case.

Any help would be much apprieciated many thanks!:)

Air con stops below 5 degrees on the mk1 octy.

How on earth do people find these things out! Thankyou for your fast response - I can do without a big repair bill at this time of year!

I think that's in the manual , but I noticed it happening on my Mk1 as you could smell the difference in the air when the temp dropped and the aircon went off
