Rear screen wash/wipe help???

Featured Replies

ALL FIXED NOW, THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

Hi,

Hoping for some advice. A few weeks ago my screen wash run out so I topped it up with just water (had no screen wash) This has been okay, on Thursday I decided I better put some proper screen wash in due to the cold. Today I have attepted to use the rear screen wash but nothing is coming out (the front is working fine)

Does anybody know what the problem could be? or is it just the fact that I have had just water in for the last 2 weeks and the water between the front and back has frozen up?

Also the screenwash warning has come back on today but went off once I started the car again later?

Took me ages to find the actual rear water squirter in the rear wiper arm

Any advice would be great.

Thanks

I was using different search terms, I've been out and can't see any obvious pipes to look for under the bonnet. In the boot lid do I need to take the black trim off to check? if so how. Struggling to find anything at the moment.

Cool thanks. All I need to know is where then I can go out and check.

I would not know, but may I suggest that the plain water you used has frozen in the pipe or even the jet, the front works ok because heat from engine, and now got the screewash protection

Just need it to heat up a bit and would clear itself

Good luck

Mine did this earlier in the week. That's the 2nd time now, so I knew exactly where to look. In both instances the pipe had come adrift in the engine bay. Look at the bulkhead, behind the air filter area. Mine always parts where an elbow meets the pipe before it enters the bulkhead. Rather fortuitously, one of the pipes here has a yellow band on it (like tape) which makes it instantly recognizable once you know where to look. It simply pushes back home with a click.

From reading the search results it seems that the pipe may have come off under the engine near the ABS unit. It seems to be a problem in the cold due to the pressure blowing it off. shame I can't bloody see it!!
