Philips Rally Bulbs

Featured Replies

Was thinking of upgrading the fogs and full beam H3 to these Philips Rally H3 100W from Power Bulbs however 48 notes seemed a little excessive for 4 bulbs, anyone got a cheaper source for these - can't find H3 on fleaBay :( only H1s and H4s.

I thought full beam were H1..

Halfords sell the Bosch 100w bulbs for about £6 each, so you shouldn't pay more than that IMHO

As above, I just got Halfords own 100w for £6.99, 130w were £9.99 but I didn't want to chance the wiring. I've only put them in the high beam as I simply don't use front foglights, even in fog usually.

TBH the fog lights you don't want overly bright and if i was changing them I would go with yellow or all weather bulbs.

You don't want them reflecting back if at all possible.

The fog/full beam bulbs are the same technology @ 100w then? Like with no super light bending trickery/blue tint etc.

Currently I have Blue Visions all round (apart from both blowing on dipped very recently :(), I am hoping to gain something over those with the 100w ones.

Actually looking at the fog/full beam ones are 55w in the Blue Visions so I should gain a fair bit then.

I'm taking points on board about going for yellow fogs and will see if I can Bosch ones in a more fog friendly tone.

EDIT: just to let you know I don't intend on using the 100w bulbs on a road with other vehicles on it just want to make the unlit unmarked backroads a little easier.

Thanks for that.

The problem I have with Auto Express is that a lot of their 'exclusive' car pics are just computer generated, TBH I don't see them as professional.

It's like the 'Sport' newspaper cover "POSH NAKED - Fake Pics Inside" - indeed because they made them up!

Sorry but I think that test is somewhat biased to Philips.

Fogs 55/60w yellow

Mains 100w should be fine and uprated 55w are fine.

Dipped uprated 55w should see you good

HTH :)

I just got a set from powerbulbs.com.

23.90 quid for a pair.

Quote this voucher code: RLKHQ1883 for another 10% off.. Oh and they send you some free blue vision marker bulbs too...

Cheers
