VRS Bonnet Bra

Featured Replies

Hi guys does anyone know where I can get a bonnet bra for the vrs? I've looked on autobra.co.uk but they seem to only do a full front bar not just a bonnet.

Thanks

Chris

Not much help i know but that looks like the only one around, maybe if a few people approach they may make one just for the bonnet!

I would be interested!

Be really good to get hold of one of these! when ever they are available ill put my hand up for one right away!

I was thinking about one of these, or even the full bra. Nasty, nasty, bad stone chips and bugs.

Gossard do a Wonderbra!!

Seriously...if there was one..it would look bloody terrible IMO

Dont waste your money

Fair point, very opinionated but you stated that i suppose :D

But whether you like it or not is by-the-by as there is obviously a demand.

In my 100k in the fabia I have had my bonnet painted twice simply to get rid of stone chips, its a case of function over form for some!

What he said! :)

Why not consider a translucent vinyl like Armourfend ? My mate who does vinyl graphics has fitted it to a few Scoobs and it's barely visible once on, and can be replaced cheaply if it starts to look tatty. They recommend the paint be cleaned free of wax, but I'd recommend a good layer of a hard Carnuba Wax to allow for easy removal without peeling any paint with it later. I've seen a lot of pics of these 'bra's' on US car sites and they NEVER look good IMHO.

I enquired about a bonnet bra about a few weeks ago with Autobra. They also said that I needed to ring back in the New Year as i had missed their last shipment of the year apparently.

But I have been thinking about this and surely if a bonnet bra were to be made not to cover the original grill, then because the grill is attached to the bonnet, the actual bra would have nowhere to firmly fix it down as it passes over the grill and would flap at reasonable speed. If that makes sense???

Gossard and Wonderbra are two rival lingerie manufacturers... but yeah I've never really understood the reason for having a car bra on a daily driver.

What's worse - a tiny stone chip or a massive great black piece of vinyl?

If it's for a car destined for a showroom, ie on a test drive then maybe but why would you want to protect paint by making sure it never sees the light of day? When do you drive without the bra? Special occasions?

Just my 2p's worth and yes there's definitely a demand for them.

When I'm doing 180mile round trip to work and back every day (Ok i've changed jobs now) but thats when I really needed it, driving from the east coast to the west coast of Scotland 221 days a year along Very fast A roads with many overtaking opportunities really takes a toll. When would I take it off, When I was using the car for myself, weekends, time off etc.

I work very close to home now and the maximum speed i probably get upto on my commute is 40 mph but I can see its use.

And we are not talking wee stone chips, My bonnet looked like it hade a white speckle through it, without a word of a lie the painter asked me how many miles it had when I first had it done, he estimated 150K it had only done 30!

I used to have a 1/2 bonnet bra on the Beetle. Best £25 quid I ever spent for long ****ty journeys up the mway or for displaying a shows. Always looked tip top when given a good polish with the Megs leather cleaner and kept the bonnet looking spangly.

I will be getting one again
