My normally very reliable Octy has developed an interesting metallic grating sound from the front. You can hear it a bit when bouncing the front of the car up and down but its very loud when you drive it, even at slow speeds.:( Anyway, I'll be booking it into the local dealer tomorrow but can anyone give me some idea what it could be? It always had the creaking suspension problem before but after reading the posts on here I didnt think it was worth trying to solve it if it didnt get any worse.

I just would like to be a bit more informed when talking to the dealer, less chance of being taken for a ride if they think I know a bit about the problem.

Drove the car this morning and has no noises at all. Can only assume a stone stuck in the brakes perhaps?

I have been experiencing the same problem, car went to dealer in the week & new front anti roll bar required, car done just 13,200 miles.

Stone stuck in brakes, quite common, has happened a few times to me now....

Car had front anti roll bar & bushes replaced in the week, noise improved by 80% but there is still a creaking!!.

All suspension bushes lubricated today, but noise still there, dealer has agreed to replace more bushes.
