I was just looking for some Skoda Owners Club abroad, and i found this forum, which looks really great, full of quality proven informations and run by enthusiasts.

My experience is following, two Octavia´s, both company´s TDI hatchbacks:

MY 2001, facelifted Oktávka, 1.9 TDI 66 Kw - Manual Transmission, version Elegance

Red brick (?) metallic colour - not the RED one, but the creamy like cinnamon looking -beige interior.

Full satisfaction with it, lots of space, hard worker, really great consumption, my record was under 5 lit/100 km on the country road, only the front bumper is way too low, so when i was parking for the first time i´ve almost rip it off while reversing...

186.000 Km (only the gearbox was kind of scratchy, but no repair needed) when replaced by

MY 2006 Octavia II 1.9 TDI 77 Kw - Manual T - version Ambiente, gold metallic - gray interior

26.000 km till today, without any problem, better comfort than the Octavia I, stronger engine, higher torque, better looking interior...only the oil consupmtion could be better...and i still wonder, why car with price badge over 540k CZK (around 12k pounds) hasn´t remote control for central locking system as standard equipment !

I´ve had an accident recently, when some punk in front of me started to brake unreasonably, i wanted to avoid the hit so i turned right into the other lane, where was car parked... Front right headlamp broken - working, but not crashed (i´ve been said, that although the lamp is working, the holder of it is broken, so the lamp is not fixed and therefore has to be replaced...), front bumper damaged, cooler damaged....repair cost in original Škoda service - 60.000 CZK...around 1.300 UK pounds...

...btw, i hope i´m not the only one from CZ in here !

Btw...while my Oktávka being repaired, i´ve been given substitute Octavia I Estate, which i found subjectivelly smaller than the MkII hatch, while reconstructioning my flat and moving lots of stuff like beds from ikea and so on....funny, isn´t it ?
