vRS free equipment upgrade - will it continue?

Featured Replies

Congrats on the order! I've just gone over a 1000 miles in a month and am so impressed, what a fantastic car!

Bit of advice, if I may, speaking from experience. Double check with your dealer, perhaps a few weeks later, that ALL your optional extras have been included - particularly the Light Assistant. Although its part of a pack in the brochure, its actually listed as a seperate item - mine was missing from factory due to dealer cockup and though it was retro-fitted a few days later, it was still a hand in mouth moment on handover....

All the best.

Thanks for the tip Ciderspace - I will make a point of that later today when I go in to sign the papers!

Glad you are enjoying your car, I managed to get one on a 5 day test drive, and was thoroughly impressed, hence the order

My dealer wouldn't entertain this length of test drive - I wonder why they differ so? Anyways, I had about an hours test on two occaisions - made up my mind after the first 5 mins - my right foot told me to buy it! :)

different dealers have different insurance. our insurance wont let us allow our customers out without there being someone else in the car! plus if your under 25 and want to test drive a fabia vrs, we have to ask the top badger for permission!

the only cars we can lend out for longer are the ones provided by skoda. :(

Ta for the explanation...

So, they plenty of cars..........10 days, yep thats how long it took to get my vRS. Frankly i am shocked that people feel they need to factory order, i mean its not a Porsche!

Mike

Bizarrely, I found that different dealers were telling me different things about what cars were in stock, I would have thought they all had access to the same cars through the Skoda UK pool. Is the inconsistent info incompetence or do they have different availability?

One dealer told me there was only one blue one in the country, whilst another (who I ordered with) told me there was at least 10 blue and black one's available immediately in a vast array of spec's - agree I can't see the point in waiting for a factory order, particularly when dealers generally give you any surplus options on an already built car for free.

Most will be working from a national 'pool' but it depends on if they are tagged for other dealers an which case then they are at the mercy of that dealer to release it.

I am having a factory order and it makes perfect sense to me.

I do not want a car until the 28th March 2008, and need it on that date.

Therefore by ordering this week a factory order car - I am as sure as I can be that i will get the car I want with the spec I want on the day I want.

Far happier doing that than running the risk of thinking I can get one nearer the time from the pool of already built cars with the exact options on.

I also do not want to take one from the pool now that matches my criteria to let it sit outside somewhere gathering dust for 3 months.

Makes sense to me

Taking this further, I bought my vRS back in March 2007 and had the three years free servicing deal thrown in.

I booked the car in for a service next week and was suprised to hear that the car wasn't flagged as having the free servicing.

Other than the hand-written order form, I have no documented proof - should I have received some documentation to confirm this?

BTW - I am having the car serviced at the same dealer I bought from.

Thanks
