New Fabia News

Featured Replies

I saw in the AutoExpress for this week news of the new mini MPV, and Fabia facelift.

MPV is going to be based on the Roomster concept, there are piccys around this site.

There is a piccy of the Fabia facelift, :) however this info in the mag, says there IS going to be another vRS  - BUT it will have the 140BHP TDi engine in the current VW lineup :( .

One of my colleagues has an A4 TDi ( 140 ) he likes it, but the engine spec is very similar to the current 130 that the furby has.

0-60 , not quite as quick.

top end virtually the same.

MPG, not as good as the current 130 BHP.

I could not get any link to the Autoexpress article ( now) Hopefully someone will find it.

[/quote'] Dad has the same engine in his new Golf Mk V, and the mpg is shocking for a diesel! He averages around 40mpg, which IMO is shocking for a diesel. He has been speeding around a bit though since getting it ...

I think he said typically

I think so, Andy

Two days after he got it, he asked me to follow him in the old Honda Accord sport, which is quick enough when pushed, and I couldn't keep up with him, even keeping it in the 5000-6000RPM bracket.

Then I got a go in it on the way home, and found out why ;) It was a bit quick!

New 2.0 TDi is a 16v variant of the 1.9 PD lump.

AutoBild says it's going to be the 1.8T 150hp...

Maybe both 1.8T 150 and TDi versions if VAG want to be super smart...

Autobild is the sister mag for Autoexpress, seems strange that Bild are saying 1.8T, but express are are saying 2.0 TDi

Just read the article, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the Fabia. The new MPV will have the 140bhp vRS, and the other car is a Fox based sub-Fabia model. This is not the fabia replacement or facelift, but a new model to be a smaller option than the fabia, eg:lupo.

lol np. ;)

From what I hear - the 2.0 Litre 140PD TDi is usually putting out in the region of 150bhp!!-- in standard form.

Jabba will be able to work plenty of magic on this one - it's got a stronger bottom end so over 200BHP should be easy

well "easy" for Jabba :)

Yeah. apparently there are rumours of a 180bhp version as standard for the Golf.

Might even get the 2.0FSi Turbo -- Audi just announced new A3 model 2.0FSi Turbo quattro :) 200BHP - and if the same rule applies as the new PD it probably puts out more like 220BHP ;)
