Air Bag Light

Featured Replies

I wonder if anyone can help?

The airbag warning light wont go out, just wondered if they is nyway of correcting it.

Thanks

In order to clear the light you need to get your car hooked up to a computer (VAG COM) and see whats causing the problem then clear the fault code from the airbag controller.

A garage can do this for you at a cost... but if your near me i can be of assistance!

Thanks I am in Prestwich

You need to know why it is coming on, put tht right and then put the airbag light out. One cause (which is more applicable to the 1.3) may be the battery overcharging which is easy to check with a voltmeter, if this is left the airbag light will be the least of your problems, as a gassing battery has a habit of messing up the engine ECU.

You're not that far away from me then.

Im up in lancaster.

If you're up in the area anytime give me a shout and we can get it hooked up and see what the problem might be...

But if you've got a voltmeter handy the charging current of the car would be a good thing to check!

VAG.COM is very useful if you have a laptop and the suitable 16 pin lead. I was going to buy a lead and download the free software but to my annoyance non support Windows Vista.

Vista by the way is useless for this happening. I wish i had just bought XP.

Hi Harry

It works fine on my laptop with Vista, but only if you download the latest version of vag com (I have version 704)
