Just to go completly off thread - Wayne,I just read your threads on Mini2 - Oh my God! - I can't believe all the crap you guys are putting up with. And I thought BMW/Mini were supposed to be good - how wrong can you be!

It's all a question of being seduced by all those beautifully glossy marketing photos that you see in all those beautifully presented magazines.

I am the very least tolerant person I know where poor products and services are concerned. Usually I complain IMMEDIATELY and ALWAYS get a refund for anything that I feel I have been mis-sold, but something strange happened to me with the MINI - it's something called love - and I just couldn't tell myself enough was enough. Every failure I managed to convince myself was the last... but as you can see, it probably wasn't!

The MINI fundamentally is a great car at it's heart. But it is seriously flawed and poorly built. I now know that my experiences aren't unique, perhaps not to the scale of me, but I feel strongly that a lot of current MINI drivers have fallen in love with their cars, so much so, they can see through the poor quality and it's quirks.

Unfortunately, when 2nd-hand owners question the build quality too, the bottom is going to fall out of the resale values of MINI's. Not fair I know, but they should have asked sooner. Their in for a rocky ride I fear :(

I've 'grown-up' such a great deal in the last year with this MINI debacle, when I read the August 2003 edition of Top Gear magazine, and saw the Fabia vRS being reviewed, I realised exactly what I'd being doing about the MINI: and that's fooling myself.

Skoda is great, and that's a fact. I should have done this a long time ago.

 Damned well written Wayne.

Now get a copy off to bmw (mini) p.r. dept and wait for the reaction, and probably wait n wait n wait!

Most manufactures don't seem to giva stuff anymore...we've got your money now **** off!

Really p155es me off too that they use the hard earned dosh paying public to test their flamin vehicles for them to discover all the faults before putting them right on the MkII version. Citroen basically told me that this is true. That's why I've binned them and I've told them. Don't seem bothered :thumbdwn: C.J.

I must admit my cooper was rock solid compared to my one a few niggles but nothing at all major, just my knee that was the problem...long story. I loved my car it was a great fun car to drive.. however got my Fab vRS today and bloody hell its fast, might not handle just as wel but I'm gonna have some fun in this baby :)
