Odd thought

Women are long winded so i will articulate this as quickly as poss.

I have seen posts about "meets" ... has anyone ever met fellow Skoda owners locally ? I would be interested in meeting others that have Felicias etc ... esp with a view to learning about maintenance, basic home repairs, upkeep etc. I tend to tinker and i'm quite happy to get mucky but considering my kids will be in the car i tinker with i would rather someone "teach" me than try to rumage around while gripping the trusted Haines manual.

If this sounds do-able or even remotely intriguing i'm in SW England .. Bristol. I am mad but quite safe when fed and medicated

Thanks

T.

i would be more then happy to help, but i live in bedfordshire.

i do however have a workshop unit, that i'm fitting out at the mow, and will be using for project cars, and teaching basic mechanics to my scouts (i'm a scout leader by the way). you would be more than welcome to come and pay us a visit.

Felicias are quite easy to maintain.

There are some "tough bits"

You're a girl aren't you? Do you look like Bonny or April out of Knight Rider ;) Now they were HOT female mechanics.

Back to topic. Checking the fluids and lights are the easiest of jobs. the only tinkering I done was my wheel rotations and fitting a new stereo.

you can tinker with these things as much as you dare really as everything is relatively easy to take apart

Down boy!

True though.

Roflmao ...

Sorry to disappoint .. neither. Think Vicar of Dibley with a warped sense of humour and a twisted (or sprained) mind  and you may be closer :P. Told you i don't mind getting dirty, like to see one of those "ladies" get grease under their nails ... Hmmm you probably would too !!

Ah Ha ... back to the real world. You mention STEREO. Where on this odd rock have you found one that fits ?? I have been looking for a while and come up against a wall each time. I don't need a boombox just a little something to pootle along to :D

You will do well here!

Those "ladies" sometimes had an artfully placed smear of grease on their cheek to show that they'd been working hard on the car's oily bits!!

The stereo was a standard singe DIN Blaupunkt Rad Cass

Changed to a Blaupunkt R/Cass with 10CD changer but for some reason didnt work when pulled from storage

Now have a JVC Rad Cas with 12CD changer

The radio should be a standard single DIN fitting with standard ISO fitment

Artful smear of grease ... :Yikes:

Shame on them, i think i'm gonna look like a cover girl for Swarfega by the end of this little project :rubchin:

No.

the Punto one might not fit as it seems to look more roundy and might not fit in the Felly.

This is a better bet

Theres nothing better than a boombox :D - I have had one in all of my Felicias, and a Favorit, you won't be able to hear your kids with one of these!!

Its dead easy to fit a new stereo, I have done loads of times, in Skodas, as well as my sisters cars. I can remove them and fit a new one in about half an hour!
