Massive split in n75 pipe why no fault code

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I went out for a drive today as soon as i heard the turbo spooling up i knew there was a fault somewhere, there was more of a hiss than a whistle. This hiss sounded as though it was coming from behind my dash. When i got home i was expecting to see fault codes with vag-com but nothing this was after a 30 mile drive.

After a quick look under the bonnet i found a massive split nearly all the way round in the pipe from the metal charge pipe to the n75.

Why the hell no fault code after a 30 mile drive!!?

No idea mate but i got nothing when my boost pipe popped off the other day

I had the same - boost hose popped off the DV once when I was accelerating hard after an S2000 down the on-ramp.

No fault codes were logged.

The light comes on for emissions related faults, if it wasn't affecting the emissions it wouldn't flag a fault.

It does seem strange that i still had the surge/hesitation when i changed gear even with the big split in the n75 pipe. I suppose this may rule out the n75 as the problem?

Car felt a little down on power but not too much.

Strange
