Flat battery - 06 vRS

Featured Replies

I have had the battery die on me 3 times now, the most recent time was on Sunday after a full charge on Tuesday and being driven daily until Friday night. Came out to it on Sunday and the battery was dead.

Now I don't think the battery is b0rked but then I guess it could be, the thing that puzzles me is that now when I lock the car the indicators flash an additional time about 15 seconds after the first couple. Is this an indicator [no pun intended] of the issue?

Also my sub is pi$$ed wet through but the rest of the boot is dry as a bone ....

Any idea's before I head back to Skoda?

Your wet sub is causing a short? Not heard of any leaks from the Fabia's boot lid (unlike the Octy), but I know a few where the sealant has gone from around the edge of the rear screen (mine included), so that might be worth a look?

(Would the thing in your boot be a sub-sub, seeing how it's underwater now? )

(I'll get me coat...)

 I checked the power drain of all the audio gear and it's nothing when it's not powered. Did think it was my iPod causing the issue but even thats been left out now. It's odd the sub issue, the rest of the boot is fine and show no signs of water ingress at all, looks like it's condensation.

the battery is either goosed or there is an electrical problem causing a drain on it

This happened to my 07 plate VRS after i fitted my sub and amp the battery died skoda replaced under warranty.

Try taking fuse out of power cable a run it for a few days see if it makes a diff,

Removed the fuses for the main Amp line and it seems to have stopped going flat! Odd though, it's all been in there since I got the car and only just started causing problems. I think it's the amount of condensation about. You don't expect a car of this value to have so many bleeding leaks!

Talking about selling it but the missus isn't keen on the Karmann Ghia Convertible I want to replace it with :(
