For some reason my PC (Vista Business) has decided that when I click on an email link on a webpage I should be using gmail to send the message , and opens a new browser window for me instead of Outlook.

I've got outlook set as the default mail program everywhere I can find to set it , but it's still doing the same.

Any suggestions?

Have you Gmail Notifier installed Alex? The little app that gives you warning of new email, by way of a system tray icon?

There's a setting in there to use Gmail as your default email app, which seems to override all other settings. That seems to be the default setting when installing too...

check your Windows Internet browser settings. On the 'programs' tab, what is the 'email' set to?

It's set to use outlook , and there's no google software installed that I can see.

mmm. what internet browser have you got installed (or were installed but unsuccessfully uninstalled)

IE7 and firefox

I'm just in the process of going through the registry and deleting any mentions of gmail - hopefully that will shift it
